Raleigh show I'm not going to get into the full set list (because basically they're really all the same, with the exception of the acoustic set), but last night's show was FANTASTIC.
I went to the Columbia show on Wednesday (won nosebleed tickets, but free is free, right) and it was a great show (maybe a little better than Raleigh), but last night I had club seats (my good friend that I work with is in the NPGMC) and that really can be an awesome experience. We had 5th row, but basically 2nd row off the catwalk to the left of Chance (and he is BIG when you're up close like that). When Prince, or anybody came out there, we were less than 10 feet away from them. Unfortunately, the only person who didn't really move around last night was Rhonda (but she was lookin good from where we were). As far as the show, Prince seemed to really feed off the high-energy crowd, but the acoustic set seemed cut short, compared to Columbia. We got LRC, Cream, a snippet of Jailhouse Rock, and got a long Telemarketrs Blues, but no Adore, ICNTTPOYM or any of the other ones he's been throwing in. Once again, as in Columbia, on of the highlights is The Question Of U/The One/Fallin' jam (he really needs to release that, if nothing else). But all in all, it was a great show, in a nice venue with a friendly staff, and a really great crowd who seemed to unite in their love of Prince & really gel as one (heads up to fellow orger hardboypurple, who I sat next to last night (I'll be gettin' up with you real soon)). All in all, it was a night to rmember, and with 2 shows almost back to back, a week I'll never forget. Thanks Prince, come back real soon. If I want your opinion, I'll beat it outta ya! | |
