Penn State--NPGMC Members Beware

I am from the D.C. area and I attended the Penn State show.

1. My seats were terrible. I was about 6 rows back on the floor, but I was behind John Blackwell on Drums. If you are in the back, you will see him about 1/4 of the time. So, I actually thought about moving up to the rafters, but in the front of the stage, so I could enjoy the show.

2. My daughter got on stage. She is 11 and was in the orange shirt. Someone let me know if you have pictures.

3. Some key differences from the L.A. simulcast: He did Cream, Alphabet Street and the Telemarketers, Bill Collectors and Fans song during the Acoustic set plus a few other songs that I forgot about. He did not do the Question of U or Insatiable and he did a non-acoustic version of the that song where he says "Is that Your Breathe or Mine" which was a little long and boring. Other than that, a good show though and my daughter enjoyed it. The songs played before the show were great. A lot of old school funk like Rick James, Tina Marie, Gapp Band and Zapp and Roger.

4. The crowd was pretty good. Not as diverse as most Prince concerts I've been to, probably due to location, but the fans were great and into the show.

5. Once again, NPGMC members . . . Beware. You don't necessarily have the best seats in the house just because you are on the floor. In fact, you probably have bad seats and would have been better off sitting in the front of the stage up high rather than on the floor because the stage is really high.

You were the sixth row on the floor behind the drums and you thought you had bad seats? Imagine what it would have been like to be exactly where you were, except in the front row...and you got my seats for the Cleveland concert. neutral
No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

falloff you kill me. I love reading your posts.. You are my kind of person: pulls no punches and hits hard. I know you had bad seats, but you approached it differently than some others. I feel bad for the people who had bad seats. like I said, I will move my ass if I can if that happens to me in Philly. I will even stand in a nother section if they let me.

I sat there too. Was really excited that I was going to be able to see Blackwell do his stuff but literally had to leave the area and watched the show from the club seats. It did seem like they were having sound problems. Prince and Renato at times kept motioning to the sound men to turn stuff up. Did anyone notice during I Would Die 4 U that Prince kept telling John Blackwell to do something? I believe all the sound problems forced them to go into the acoustic set early so they could fix them. The show sounded much better from mid level.
