RANDOM NOTES: Even though there were a few seats left around the very top of the arena, an usher told me that the concert was considered a sell-out due to the stage configuration...The audience was a bit subdued during the beginning of the show, but after a couple of songs they were on their feet for the rest of the night...The entire performance was punctuated by chants of "O-HI-O"..."Raspberry Beret" was performed for the first time during the acoustic set, as was "Pink Cashmere" (an abbreviated version--Prince sang only the opening lines then proclaimed, "Y'all ain't ready for that!"...He also scolded the crowd (kiddingly, of course) for not knowing the words to "Cream"--"Where's all my background singers???"...All in all, another great show with several songs (notably, "DMSR" and "Controvery," with the former containing the "Housequake" chant and horn lines) played in extended versions from the previous night in Pittsburgh.

Just realized I listed "sometimes It Snows In April" twice...it was actually played following "After Midnight"

Well... I don't know where you were sitting, but from my viewpoint, most the of the crowd was standing the entire night from beginning to end. The only noticeable time where most people were sitting was during the God instrumental.

Also of note, I don't know if Prince said this in other shows, but there was some discussion on the Org about how they hate the fact that in the song Kiss, Prince substitutes the "you don't have to watch Dynasty" line with "Sex in The City". Well as if to provide a playful answer to the complaint, Prince said "you don't have watch 'Trading Spaces' "

Definitely a great show... it was a crowd pleaser. As I was walking out, you could hear several different groups of people saying things like "wow, that was awesome!"

I would second your last thought...I heard the same thing from MANY different people!

BTW, we were sitting in the 5th row behind Chance and the horns.

I liked the show, I was in the second row behind Chance. Candy is really hot. I wish however club member got bowl seats for this, I mean I like seeing Prince close, but I also like seeing the whole stage, which I coulden't see Rhonda at all, untill she sat by Blackwell.. Blackwell, what an unbelievable talent.. I missed the cloud guitar too. It really reminded me of the 2001 concert in Col, minus the acoustic set and Sign O the Times. Did I say Candy was hot, now thats one, I'd go Down South on.

Yeah, it was an amazing show. I wish he would've played all of "Pink Cashmere"! And did anyone else notice he did the extended guitar outro from Shuggie Otis' version of "Strawberry Letter 23"? I can't remember exactly where in the show he performed it, but it was cool to hear Prince play that interesting bit of guitar work.

Yeah, full version of Pink Cashmere would've been alright with me too. Seems like the perfect kind of song to go acoustic. Lots of people were really digging the acoustic set in general though. You could see people with a look on their face of "whoa, I didn't know he could do all that". I missed the Strawberry Letter 23 tag though.

I hate to pull out a negative, but was I the only person that didn't the like acoustics/sound of the arena? It's not so much that the sound was bad, but I think I just miss the sound of a more intimate setting in a smaller venue.

Rhonda was all the way on the otherside in like this little pit, sitting down and you could barely see her. I saw John good..Just before the show, He came out and threw some drum sticks out into the crowd..i tired to get over there to the stage but couldn't.. sad
