Member Seats vs. General public

OK. I'm still confused about how seating works with the member pre-sales etc. I'm not really worried, I'll have a great time and am sure I'll have good seats but...?? Last night I took my kid to an Easter Egg hunt at a nearby park. I bumped into another neighborhood parent who had brought his kids. He is not a NPG Music Club member but is a Prince fan. He said he went to the ticket office at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul the day the first show went on sale and stood in line. When he was almost at the front of the line they announced that the first show was sold out and they would immediatly start selling tickets for a second show. He went right up to the counter and got four second row seats!! Now if he got second row seats and is not a club member, what seats do club members get? Just made me wonder... And that show is the one where in my profile on NPG Music Club it says "floor seats' where the other two shows it just says "member tickets" What is the difference? Other shows will not be on the floor? Oh well, i'm excited for the shows no matter what! It was just making me wonder....

You can't really tell anything just by him telling you he got second row seats. Those seats might be second row on the far left. Or second row, third tier of an arena. Or second row of the second section back from the stage.

Each venue is going to have its own number and lettering system. The non NPG club member who got those second row seats may actually be holding Row 2, section J or some other section far from being the best seats.

I got a 10th row section E floor seat for the Reno show, on Thursday evening two days before the show, from the tickets.com website. I did not purchase the ticket as a Club member. I'm still trying to figure out why a bunch of great floor tickets became available then. confused

Tickets are always held back and released right before the show. You can get great seats sometimes the day of the show.
