Champaign? More Like Cristal!

I had such a phenomenal time last night in Champaign! Meeting up with theorgerformerlyknownas, theblueangel and anxiety was just the beginning of it all. Getting to the venue...finding out what our seats were...from the beginning it was just fantastic. Front row seats...nobody between prince and us. All the worrying about seats and obstructions and so forth was for nothing. Even after seeing the "1" under the word "row", i was still not quite grasping. add to that the stories of awful first row seats and i was still slightly wary. Well, when theblueangel and I went to our seats...after making a detour for a drink or two...our jaws dropped! Not only front row but front row in the area where p’s pedals are! He was there, doing his thing, right in front of us for so much of the time. and when he was in the middle of the stage, he was only a few feat further. For me, it was The guitar solos. The guitar solos. Oh, and the guitar solos. During the question of you I begged him to bring it and don’t hold back. Yelling for him to just kill the guitar. Well, he killed it...a la jimi hendrix. All that was missing was the fire but he was so hot he just didn’t need it! Singing the one right in front of me (right in front of me). He dropped to his knees and brought that song down! Let me apologize to the peeps behind us now...they had the annoyance of me jumping up and down through so much of the show. How could I not?

I've seen prince about 30 times...the first being back in his purple rain heydeys when i was about 8 years old. i've been in the front row, the last row and everywhere in between. Last night, I had the feeling I had back when I saw Prince for the very first time. The excitement is still with me this morning. I'm hoping this feeling will be with me forever. Or at least until the first of three shows in chicago...

"This feeling's so good in every single way. I need it morning, noon and night of everyday"

Heh...I hear that!!! All I have is a million happy thoughts skittering around in my skull.

Oh, the poor people behind us must HATE us!! eek Heh. I couldn't help it, I was a fucking kangaroo on crystal meth from the first "Keep your body movin'!" and I only stopped for a breather (hooking up my oxygen mask and collapsing in my chair) when Prince was changing his clothes.

And Sassy, I can't tell you how fucking amazing the Guitar thing was -- fucking surreal, man. That was unscripted, and it was due to our enthusiasm and your pleading -- the man loves an appreciative audience, and we didn't hold back neither. I'm at a complete loss for words about the actual concert, and the fucking guitar playing, oh my god!!! Even better than he played on the ONA tour, imo. The Question Of U, with him almost down on his knees intensely wailing on his guitar, veins popping out of his neck, sweat flicking off his face...shit, I gotta go take a valium. wink

My advice to people going to the show is GET READY TO SCREAM AND DANCE YOUR ASS OFF!!! Show Prince how long you've been fucking waiting. wink

Bitch, as soon as you got in my car before the show and we put on my radio loud and both started belting out Illusion, Coma, Pimp and Circumstance like our lives depended on it...I knew it was gonna be a beautiful night. AGAIN, a million jillion jizzy thanks. eek
