No Maceo in Champaign???? Is he still with the Musicoloigy tour?

He is having health problems. I think he was on tour himself and had to cancel many of those dates. Hopefully, he will be OK.

The horn section currently consists of Candy on lead sax, Greg Boyer on bone and Mike Phillips on sax.

And iss a FUNKY FUNKY horn section, goddamn!! Now I'll admit that I used to play the sax and alto horn so I may be more into that kinda shit than anyone...but it was like being at one of the Sign of the Times shows, it was THAT good.

Of course, if instead of Mike Phillips (or hell, in addition to) he had Eric Leeds and his pal Atlanta Bliss on trumpet (where's the trumpet, Prince?), THEN I would have exploded all over SassyFrass' cute-ass shirt.

Let's hope Maceo is there for MSG, that would be a blast...

Maceo had to undergo some surgery, but he is fine now. There was a plan of Maceo and his band opening up for the entire US-tour starting the 21st of April, but that has been changed by Prince. Now it seems like Maceo will join as a member of the NPG as soon as he has recovered.

Ubiquity you gotta be an insider, either in NPG or close... I mailed Maceo's management and didn't get this information about "surgery" plus what's all this about Maceo's band opening?
there's nowhere this information has been even whispered... that would have been nice though. I mailed his management again to ask about this info and am waiting for reply...

yeah it does matter, a) because you are saying something which is pretty potent if true, and I can't imagine where you are getting this information unless you are in one of two camps... in which case should you be saying this on the org? and what's your take on it?

you may be touching Maceo's private needs if you are divulging stuff which isn't to be had anywhere else, maybe for good reason.
I am a huge Maceo fan and was satisfied with the information I got so far from his website and from mails I asked. But no-where else has mentioned surgery and no-one else has mentioned this opening thing,( and so psecific dates and all) which is what fired me to keep asking you quesions. I suppose you could be a band person from Maceo's band mad not to be opening that could explain a lot... well if so hope you don't get in trouble telling us all this info on here. Let's hope it isn't one of those posts Prince reads and decides that he won't have Maceo back ... that would be a shame.
