I noticed that there is a concert at the Marcus Ampitheater in Milwaukee. Not a theater which is set up to be in the round. so i guess he is doing some shows out of the round - comments?

For the Lovesexy Tour, it was interesting that they put the stage at one end of the arena for some cities instead of right in the middle. I can't remember why, but it had to do with how the arena was set up.

Then for some reason, they didn't sell any tickets for the end by the stage, so I and other people just moved over there where we were closer. I saw 18 of the Lovesexy shows...great memories.

I've heard that some Milwaukee fans didn't buy tickets to the Marcus show because they're nervous that the show is at Summerfest. Prince will have to use the regular stage at the Marcus. It won't be possible to set up the stage that he's using on the rest of the tour. Peeps are worried that some stupid shit will happen with the sound...etc. because it's an outdoor arena.

I can see how some shows might be set up as a thrust stage, in which there is audience on three sides of the stage...of course, I can't see how this would work for an amphitheater show.

I have to disagree. You can always put a stage out in the middle of almost any venue. Even with a permanent stage on one end you can still set up a stage in the middle. Most seating can be removed from any arena or theatre, then you put the stage in the middle with seats all around it. Not that difficult.

I checked the Ticketmaster site. The Marcus Amphitheater is End Stage seating only. No other seating arrangement is given. Not sure why this venue was chosen for Prince. It's huge, with 23,000 seats.

Tickets are $75, $65, $40, and I think $19. I just checked and there's still $40 tickets available. This venue is going to have huge empty spaces for Prince's show. Bad idea to book this. Should have gotten a venue in town that was indoors and had about 10,000 seats.

I have seen Prince perform here before. He said, "Milwaukee, you have a beautiful theater here." He seemed to like the venue. He did not sell it out, but all the pavillion seats seemed to be sold out. There will be alot of people looking to buy tickets for the show on the day of the concert, so I think he will sell it out. It is at Summerfest, so about 100,000 people are already on the festival grounds (plus 20,000 for the Prince show). Interesting thing about this show - you may have to pay an additional fee to get onto the summerfest festival grounds - unless you show up early (I think that the first couple hours of the fest are free admittance and then they charge like $10 or something to get into the park). Those with tickets should look into this.

By the way, this is a great venue for music.

I think that the show should be great. The show is opening night of Summerfest; however, I saw Prince three years ago at Summerfest in Marcus, and the sound quality there is pretty good. It will not be possible to do a round, but I think anyone that attends will be in for a treat. The last time I saw him there, he seemed to love it. I'm sure that's why he chose to perform there as opposed to another venue in Milwaukee where a round setup is possible.
