question about the alicia keys speech at the concerts does it get shown just before prince hits the stage, like an intro or does it just get shown in the beginning of the show when people are seated. cos if its the intro, that sounds kinda cheesy and like something michael jackson would do. |

It was the intro to the show - the lights went down, the clip came up, the music started, he sang. It was actually very appropriate since we're all (well, not you obviously  ) are still praising that RRHOF performance & the kudos he's getting now is LONG overdue. I know what your saying, and it so could have come off that way, but it actually worked. Partially, its Alicia's delivery that makes the whole thing not come across as ridiculous ego-stroking on P's part. You'll just have to see it for yourself to see if you agree.

It's not cheesy in any way.
This video montage and speech by Alicia Keys is from the March 15 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions. Heck, he probably could not use it if not for the permission from VH-1. It was VH-1 who put the video montage together. And he probably asked Alicia if he could use her speech. VH-1 and Ms. Keys said yes. It is perfect because the Rock Hall induction was two weeks previous and still fresh in everyone's mind. If Prince did not get permission, then he probably have some other introduction -- maybe the Hit n Run 2000-2001 intro, but different. Alicia's speech is moving and she calls for everyone to stand up and pay homage. If it wasn;t for a movie theatre setting in Detroit Monday night, I am sure everyone would have stood up and cheered. Wait until June 20 and 21. | |

It was VERY cheesy and does sound like a lame Michael Jackson sort of thing. Prince should come out and do a great show...he doesn't need to tell everyone how great he is before he starts the show. I love Prince and he is great, but the intro is LAME. | |
