People here attempted to do that very same thing to me. I had a great time! I think it's a wonderful thing for Prince to have people on stage with him. I just want to add that I may judge a person for their physical appearance, and then I go on to watch the person in action. I'm trying to say, sometimes I can drop the judgement, move past it, sometimes, I don't. Pity for me when I don't drop the judgement. It is a bitter pill to be left chewing. And if it ain't bitter? Maybe it happens so often that bitterness has nothing to compare against. Sometimes, a person can become de-sensitised to their own feelings.

No large nosed people.... No people with too many body peircings... No handicapped people of ANY kind..... NO small busted women.. No overly large busted women.... It's best to have no one up there except Prince and the band. But I do not find fault with the rest of your "banned" people if fans must be onstage. I'm just thinking in terms of aesthetics and making the show the best for the most audience members. I sure wouldn't belong onstage either, and I am honest enough to realize that.

At a show I was at he brought a women up on stage that must of been 60.. she was dancing with Prince and he was smiling and talking to her.. I heard that after the show he got her and her friends tickets to the after show and even talked to them at the after party! I was at Glam Slam years ago, I am NOT a beautiful person, and I am heavy set... But I was dancing at "Erotic City" and Prince came in and he walked by me and my husband and said to my Hubby.. Explain where you'd like to sit, who you want in the band, what they should play, and describe the 'hot chicks' you'd like up on stage for your entertainment. . I guess you are right...and I guess 75% of the other threads on here are absurd too with people saying which songs they like the best and what they'd like to see in concert, etc. Anyway, I sure wouldn't post it on NPGMC because the "fams" there would try to crucify me as being a negative blaspheme. That kind of honesty would be frowned on over there, even more than it is here. But anyway, I guess I am the only one who doesn't find obese people attractive, espeically onstage with Prince. All of you have dated people only based on the "beauty inside", with no regard to their physical appearance. I guess you guys are just much more evolved than I am, because I know you are all so self-aware and honest with yourselves and others. And there is no way I would go onstage with Prince because I wouldn't belong up there. Prince = talented stage performer. Me = audience member with no musical talent. I could go up there to selfishy have a good time and block other people's view of Prince, but I wouldn't do it.

Well thank God Prince doesn't conduct his concerts to make you happy. Prince establishing a real connection with real people is what really matters. One day you might grow up, then again maybe not. It is not a "real connection". Having fans onstage is a cheap ploy to make it appear that Prince is "down with the people". The only "real" connection I need is the one that I get through listening to his music and watching him perform. Someone shaking their big fat ass onstage does not help them "connect" with Prince any better....it only helps them become a bit of a buzzkill in an otherwise cool show.

Whatever floats your boat on an attraction level is justified. You like what you like and there is no need to argue about it. But your comments are totally demeaning to people and demeaning to the experience. Prince's music belongs to everyone, not just Diamond & Pearl, Carmen Electra or Mayte. He's not putting on that kind of show. Prince's music got a lot of people through life, me being one of them. I agree with the validity of your point about not being distracted from the show by bring anyone on stage. But you should seriously think the next time you want to get ugly and belittle others for their imperfections. Might I suggest some professional help 4 u? I read this thread thinking this must be some kind of late April fools joke, BUT one thing's for sure; It's April and you're a FOOL. I for one had a BLAST watchin Prince make Bela Lugosi faces with all those people on stage with him! It was all in good fun and I felt good watching those people (big and small) have a once in a lifetime experience and vicariously living through them. It says more about U than it does about Prince if any of the "heavier" people bothered U. God help ya man, cuz in this life or the next the Karma Police are gonna pull your ass over and it ain't gonna be pretty.

Well, it was pretty funny seeing Prince make faces at some of the people onstage...but that was the only good part about it. As far as the Karma Police go, they are going to have to get in line behind the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus to get to me.

Question-Have you ever been onstage with Prince? No, and as I said above, I wouldn't belong up there and wouldn't go up there. I am content watching the show from the audience and I don't have a need to have the spotlight be on me. I'm there to watch the show, not to perform. And because I have no talent in that area, I really don't belong up there. . [This message was edited Mon Apr 5 14:06:47 2004 by RupertZ]

It's not just about physically unattractive women. When Prince has dorky looking guys onstage...it is just as bad. And as I said, I'm sure these people are cool, and they are having fun onstage and it's not their fault. It is Prince's fault for subjecting everyone else in the arena to a bunch of distractions onstage when we are all there to see him. The Gameboyz (Tony M and the other guys) didn't belong up there...and nor do audience members, especially physically unattractive ones. I just don't want to be watching Prince play his guitar, only to be blocked by some fan's big fat booty. This is a live concert, not MTV's "Grind". RupertZ said: This has been discussed elsewhere, but I was curious about the general consensus out there. Do you like it when Prince brings audience members up onstage during the concert? I've always felt this was a transparent ploy to appear that you are connecting with your fans. It only benefits a small number of fans who get onstage, and for the rest of the audience, it is a distraction and lowers the quality and excitement of the show.
With the LA show, Prince took it to the extreme...having all those people onstage for so long. I'm sure they blocked the view of Prince for much of the audience in the arena, especially on the floor. And there were a couple of very fat women who were definitely a bit of a buzzkill if you were trying to watch Prince and just were assaulted by their offensive girth. God bless them for having a good time, and it's not their fault that Prince allowed them onstage, but it still hurt the quality of the show. That one fat girl standing behind Prince near the center of the stage in LA was SO distracting, and unpleasant to look at. It totally took me out of the moment, trying to watch the show. Prince should either stop bringing people onstage or at least just limit it to hot chicks and decent looking guys. This would exclude many people (including myself, no doubt), but it would make the show better for everyone else. I am paying $80 to see Prince, not a bunch of regular people. I can meet fans before the show and hang out and enjoy their company...I do not need to see them dancing onstage and blocking my view of Prince, etc. Idiot! Don't you read the news? Fat people are taking over. Get with the program and eat more yourself. Bet you're a skinny, buttless, pencil-legged, knobby need, mosquito necked wonder behind that monitor of yours.
