I've read quite a few people say they were behind John Blackwell, so I'm wondering if the "music club" section is located there.

No, I'm in the musicclub and we were in section 20, Row C. When I first saw my ticket, I was thinking "Great! Third row!!". That part was true, but it put me behind Rhonda (which isn't HALF of a bad place to be biggrin ), at the far end of a row beside the first tier seating. It felt kinda out of the way, but I didn't care for the most part because the whole vibe was so funky! I was very happy to see that he included the acoustic set.

Prince really tore the roof off the guitar solos! The guy behind me, who had quite a "few" beers, was a riot in how he was going on and on (loudly) how Prince was tearing it up. LOL! I'm just glad to see he got that fired up about it all, because he really was on point. headbang

Oh, and guys, candy did have a skirt-like piece on, so no camel-toe shots here. I overheard someone there mention hoping to see it, and I had to laugh to myself for seeing that she had the anti-exposure screen on. She must have been hip to it being said on the org... wink

Lol I noticed the skirt thing too. I told my boyfriend " dont stare too hard at Candy's camel Toe"
The show was amazing, the crowd was great (Considering I was sitting next to an obese woman she couldnt get out of her seat to dance)

Erykah Badu was great too

I loved it during the acoustic set,he was singing, Little Red Corvette...he stopped playing because we were all singing so loud and he gave that look batting eyes (Gotta love his eyes)

I have a question...the npgmc members....you had to pick your tickets up at the arena??? THey didn't mail them to you???

Actually, it's nice to know that some things about rock concerts haven't changed at all...

I missed Candy's camel toe from opening night, but she needs to back up off the catering table anyway. And can we start a petition or something to get some skirts for Rhonda? Skirts! That's the only thing from the JOTY tour that we need back!

Exactly, we had to pick them up at the will call (box office). Erykah was good too, but that shrill sound in her voice kinda did something to my ears as her mic control wasn't exactly on par with Prince's sound setup. Not really a complaint, just an observation. She was very soulful. cool

It was cool how he did stop LRC when he realized he was virtually drowned out by us. biggrin Seems he was a bit touched by that.

The show was nice to listen to. Like many of the others, I didn't see a whole bunch of Prince. However if I bent my head all the way up I got to see him on the big screens. The whole middle stage seems to be a great idea but very hard for ppl sitting on the side to see whats going on.

We had decent seats, but I would of prefered to be in the 100's instead of the floor.

Great show and Great Energy!!!!

Betsy and Cody sorry for missing y'all at the aftershow, but I was feeling very ill. Thank goddness i made it home when I did or I would of been a mess.

hey wow where were all you Orgers when I kept asking Where is Prince.Org??? Any way me and my daughter were in row g section15 I saw Dozzer and his wife ( great shirts). We walked around a bit but basically were very happy with our seats we were behind John as well but a little more over to the right. There were some people there who were watching me and my kid sing and groove, they had cameras either phones or very small digital ones and my daughter was waving her hand and knocked one of the guys phones on the floor, she picked it up and said to him you shouldn't have a camera in here anyway when he looked at her all crazy. I decided not to be a bitch and tell on him, if they come out they will be great pictures.

It was my daughter's first time seeing him and now she wants to go with me to all the other shows.. I'll bring her to Houston!!! I must say of all the shows I've seen of his this was the BEST crowd in a long time. I could tell that he was really into the crowd. Oh when the band came in and out we saw them and my daughter got to shake hands with Candy and Rhonda as they walked by. Was it just me or did he seem to like our side of the stage? Oh incase you are wondering who i was I was the one singing in line at the door smile Darlin Nikki and Little Red corvette, trying to drown out the preaching guy. I have no voice this morning and I feel like I ran 3 miles BUT it was sooooo worth it.

The show was great! See yall in Sanantone!

You sound like an Erykay fan...I've never heard her music before so my eyes were really on Prince the whole time. But Prince pulled her out of the crowd and said something like, "Dallas, give it up for one of your own!" She sang "Southern Girl" in the middle of "Life O The Party." Prince joked with her a bit and the stage was packed at that point with other people pulled up on stage.

My apologies Susan. Doh! dead is how my night ended.....

My thoughts on the show/seat issue...

The show itself was pretty tight, for what I could see (more on that later, thank God I saw the LA screening). This incarnation of this NPG band is a special one. Prince was feeling it and did his usual, working the Dallas crowd into a frenzy. The crowds size and frenzy was a shock to say the least. Filled to the rafters (20k with tons of people looking for tix), I only noticed maybe 6 empty seats. The crowd was incredible, the only sit downs were during the costume changes. Maybe he was shocked too and decided he had to come back in June.

On to the seat thing. My seats were Section 22 Row A Seat 3,4, floor seats, basically 5th row. (http://www.ticketmaster.com/seatingchart/98723/11366 for reference) Not bad, I thought....until the show started. At my angle, I was seated dierctly behind Chance's keyboards and a big black box covered by a big NPG railing & logo. I did not see 1 second of Renato, but I did have a good angle, though somewhat distant view of Blackwell (another WOW performance....I never realized he plays 360 degrees.) I did get to see plenty of Candy (I noticed the skirt thing too....LOL) and the other horns, Rhonda from afar (a huge thumbs down!!!) and whenever Prince came to our side, he was no more than 40 ft (to my left). Most times though, if he was center stage or opposite side, we saw nothing. Half of my section couldn't see the accoustic set, I got lucky to catch his torso up....3 ft to the left and it wouldve been an empty stage for me. I had no clue some woman accosted P or any activities by security. I did notice though, P hand picking some pretty ladies and security escorting them around to go up on stage. Had to have some beautiful people up there.....LOL. We did get to see Badu.....looked like she went a little longer than P expected, until he finally relented and let her have the pistol mic. Security (and plenty of it) was a pain in the rear in front of us, constantly moving, huddling, moving people back to their seats, etc. Prince's people seemed to be looking especially hard for anybody recording or using camera phones.

Overall, it was a great 3/4's of a show. Maybe if the stage was lower (approx. 6ft high), and the railings and logos were removed it wouldn't be so bad, but right now the way things are set up, the vast majority of floor seats have really bad views. One beef I had.....on my side, the front rows of the regular seating (the best seats in the house) were many local radio big whigs and guests. One of whom was an older lady who you could tell had never seen Prince.....but somehow she ended up on stage????? OK.....

I'm looking forward to the June show, but if this seating thing doesn't get fixed, I'll likely avoid the NPGMC presale, in favor of a seat that I can see the whole show.....unless all I can get are nosebleeds again.

Well, there you have it -- mystery solved.

Alphabetically is kinda for the birds, don't you think? You could make sure you're there on your computer, hitting "reload" over and over until your mouse button breaks, swipe up your tickets and be done by 5 minutes after the presale ends, then someone else can sleep late, buy tickets online without much thought or care, and end up with front row seats because of how they spell their last name?

I might just re-join the club under my mother's maiden name:

Now that more & more people are weighing in on the seating issue I'm terrified @ where I'll be. sad I could have snatched up some row 16 seats from ticketmaster & been COOL but no, I waited for the NPGMC sale.

Didn't anyone bother to see what the view would be like for people while they built this fucking stage? Damn, I'm irritated. They need to lower that shit immediately sad

The aftershow was held at club Blue. I got flyers from some guy on the street and the flyers read NPG aftershow on it. The club only played one Prince song and this rest was a mixture of everything else. I knew Prince and the band was'nt going to be their because I ask Mike Scott (a guitar player from NPG) if there were going to be any after parties after the show, and he said that he was'nt sure and he did'nt think so. Oh Yeah, my last name starts with an "E" and I got front row tickets! I didn't order my tickets until 40 mins after the presale started.

There was a flyer distributed afterwards touted as the "official" afterparty hosted by Skip Cheatum, who earlier in the day hinted on K-104 he knew where the party was, at the Club Roccafella on 635 & Preston. I knew it was bogus when I walked in and they were playing "Back that a** up".....

Sorry to pick a nit y'all, but it's only an aftershow if Prince plays. Otherwise, the correct vernacular is "afterparty." Thanks. wink

I really hope this whole alphabetical thing isn't true. I hate the argument that this is considered "random" - to me, it seems more discriminatory than anything. Someone with a last name that begins with "Z" should get rotten seats just cuz their parents have a funky name? That ain't right.

Though I'm not gonna bitch TOO much about this, being that my last name starts with a "B"... razz
