There's plenty of parking. I always park at the lot a block north of the arena. Costs 20 bucks, but I always get in quickly, get a spot, and get back out to Olympic Blvd. quickly. And it's only a short walk to the venue. Staples is way better than the Forum in this regard.

Kelly, I was pretty worried about this myself before the show on the 29th, since I was traveling with my young daughter--I didn't want to wind up walking late at night after the show to a distant lot.

Not being from LA, I drove up to the Staples Center along Figueroa St and saw I sign right next to the huge building that said "Parking - $15" so I drove right in at the light. To my surprise, I was parking right on the lot on the driveway. Don't know why we were so lucky, but it took a load of my mind.

Here's a link to the Staples Center; click on "Parking" and you can see where all the lots are at. http://www.staplescenter....ns_fr.html

(By the way, I parked along the little white line below the brownish Staples building in the middle of the diagram.)

Hope this helps!!

If you get there early enough, there is no need to pay $20 for parking at Staples, or even $15. You can either get free parking on the street, or park in a non-Staples lot for $4 or $5.

I went to the March 29th concert, and I parked on the street just two blocks north of Staples Center -- a 4-minute walk from the arena. I found my parking spot at about 5:45 PM. (The official start time for the show was 7:30 that night.) You have to be careful with street parking, though. On some downtown streets with metered parking, the streets become "no stopping" zones during rush hour (usually 4 to 6 PM) in order to facilitate traffic. So if you look for street parking, be sure to read the signs.

On that same street I parked on there was a $5 parking lot. And around the corner (further north) there was a $4 lot. There are a lot of such lots in the area directly north and northeast of Staples Center (most owned by the same company).

A friend also told me that there is street parking on Olympic Blvd. (the street that is the northern border of Staples Center), beginning about two blocks west of the arena. I didn't check that out, though.

(And you don't have to worry about safety walking back to your car if you park on the street or in a non-Staples lot, as there will be thousands of people walking the streets with you after the concert.)

The best thing to do is get there a couple of hours before show time and just drive around. You'll definitely find something. $20 for parking is a rip-off! Just absolutely insane! I would only pay that if I was driving up to the arena just as the show was starting, AND I'd gotten a free concert ticket.
