Glebdale, Arizona report

I did consider myself a connoisseur of all things Prince, until I came upon this web site eek
I have felt that some people are hesitant to post because they might be unfamiliar with a song or a band member's name. Everyone wants to know the SET LIST, but that isn't always the most important part. If you are still awake the disclaimer is done cool
The first question was, " Who gets my second ticket?". The answer was my MOM. Who is a huge music fan and still believes Elvis was the best show she ever saw and therefore he is the best entertainer. Mind you years ago my cousin took her to a pre-Boss Bruce Springsteen show back in Jersey.
While we were waiting for the show to start sitting in the 6th row stage left, great tickets from NPGMC. We sat next to a young lady and her Mother! I saw a lot of familiar faces from the ONA show. The show started with a bang! "Musicology", which meant I lost my bet of gas money thinking it would be "Lets go Crazy" which turned out to be the second song. The first segment of the show felt like going to a dance and bringing your favorite band. Section DDD was dancing and singing like no tomorrow. I can not remember every song, but "DMSR" was an awesome surprise.

Another highlight was "SHHH"! This song prompted a conversation on our 2-hour car ride home(also at the show were my sister and brother-in-law) about what songs Prince plays and does not play and how does he decide? I think "SHHH" makes the set list because John Blackwell is so strong a drummer. Two of the three other times I have seen Prince his drummer was Kirk Johnson. Therefore, one was not going to hear "SHHH".

During the change over there was a truly amazing sax solo by Maceo Parker( 90% sure it was him).

I wish Rosie was in the house because I love her voice, but even that could not have made "Nothin' compares to u" that much better. During this show I felt Candy Dulfer was tremendous. I never knew she sang!
Before the show started, they turned the house lights down and this lady just let out a scream like you have never heard. Everyone around was just busting up. I said what are you going to do when Prince actually comes on stage?! Well, when they let some people go up and dance on stage this girl made a bee line for the stage and got up there and boogied. When she came back I gave her a well deserved high five!
Another funny moment, when the people were on stage dancing Prince walked by this lady to the back side of the stage and was singing I think" Take me with U" when she started doing some move with her legs bent and shuffling forward with her arms open( you had to see it)while his back was turned. After a few steps, Prince turned back and saw her and gave the Prince look(are U kidding) and said," lady you got kids at home" and the place went nuts. I am still laughing even writing about it now. A quick shot out to the guy in the blue shirt who danced and sang on stage way to go, even though you did scare Prince during "Kiss" with your moves
I have read a lot of people were disappointed there was not a longer encore. Well, what can you say the more Prince the better, but I did not go home feeling like I missed anything. I can not say enough about Prince's guitar playing during this show. The whole band was on top of there game and you have not seen drums until you see John Blackwell play and wipe the sweat off his forehead wink I am sure I have 20 or 30 songs that I wanted to hear and didn't but the man has 100's and 100's of songs we all know and love. Prince gained a new fan for his music and showmanship, my mother what more could he want cool sad
