If he brought out the acoustic set up, then pulled it, then that means he had every intention of doing it, but then changed it up at the last second. Its highly unlikely that he did it because he was "tired". Lots of stuff can happen in a live show, and there may have been 1000 reasons to scrap the acoustic set (as Anxiety pointed out, it may have also been a restriction imposed on him by the local authorities). To just assume that he was tired, or didn't like Phoenix, is just silly. As a performer, you sometimes have to do things like this to save a show, even if you don't like it. Sorry tonto, but you missed four or five songs tops. You still got a concert longer than 90% of the shows out there (and most of those cost a whole helluva lot more as well).

With the schedule Prince has, trying to satisfy every concert goer, I will be satisfied if he just shows up and preforms.
Man! he has a heavy schedule.
Also, I expected the simulcast show to be the "best"....maybe it will be a DVD. Hope so,
So...how's everybody doing? smile

Then your comments in other threads regarding the Staples Center show was based on the the Simulcast -- you weren't there in person?

Exactly, whether I am there or if I am watching a broadcast, leaving out the acoustic set (15 min.) is not going to kill me to the point where I demand a refund. Anything else?

See now, Handclaps and eldog have a legit reason to complain because of never being able to see Prince perform because he didn't come to their town. I honestly don't understand what Tonto is so upset about, since he got to see 3 Prince shows during the tour. How many people can honestly say that they got to see more than one concert a year by the genius currently known as Prince? Not too many, including myself. Believe me, I would love to have gone to his Columbus and Cincinnati shows as well as his Cleveland show (which I am going to on April 17th), but there is no way any of my friends or myself can afford the cost of the tickets.

I understand being a bit disappointed if a Prince concert was cut a bit short if it was the only concert you got to see and you had heard from other people or read on the org that Prince had played longer, but like other people stated on this thread, I'm sure there was a darn good reason why the concert was cut short. Maybe Prince was having trouble with his mic, as someone said earlier, or perhaps Prince just did not feel like doing an acoustic set that night. It is Prince's show and he has the right to do whatever the heck he wants to do, whether it is to our liking or not. It amazes me how Prince can never do anything to some people's liking, and they have to nitpick about it. Truly sad. disbelief

Prince, if you're reading this, you are a genuis, a true showman, and a true musician. Keep doing what you're doing, and forget the negativity and the naysayers. I'm sure you probably already have a pretty good idea as to who your true fans are, just from reading what people post here on the forums. biggrin

Can't we all just get along?

Tonto, Prince, cut short the Lovesexy Tour opening night in Chicago because the audience was not into it. I know since I clocked the show at 2 hours 9 minutes. The second night he played for 3 hours the third night (which wasn't sold out and I didn not attend), he played for 3 hours 30 minutes. My stomach cramped up when the guy in my dorm told me Prince sang "Do Me, Baby" the third night.

A concert is all about the artists music performed live, not how long the show is or isn't. Just be happy Prince was created in our lifetime so we can enjoy his gift from the Universe to the inhabitants of planet Earth.

If Princey boy doesn't play an acoustic set in Champaign, IL, so be it. I saw the set at Celebration 2002 and at the simulcast. Since I will be seeing him three times in Chicago, it's a high probability he will play the acoustic set. And I'm praying he plays something different each night.

My concern isn't what he plays or how long, it's me getting on stage to dance. biggrin I do want to show off my moves in front of 16,000 people.

Prince the best $85.00 dollars I ever spent.
Madonna $300.00 for her not to perform songs that made her famous.

highfive I agree, this topic has been thoroughly discussed on not only this thread but on several others. It should be shut down, since right now, it seems like Tonto is beating on a dead horse and just repeating himself over and over again.

Wow.... Prince must be absolutely fantastic. If he fails to perform four songs, some of his fans act like they were denied a look at the Sixtine Chapel on their trip to Rome.
