Buffalo, New York Simulcast, Zero's View

The Williamsville, New York Regal Theatre, near Buffalo was nearly full. Lotsa different kinds of fans!! None of them became a fan like I did, I would imagine! I used to be called "Prince" in high school
because of my so-called resemblance to the man. I never saw it. They
even put it in my yearbook! Anyway because of a cute girl who brought in her Purple Rain album for me to listen to back in the 4-5th grade, I guess due to peer pressure that I became interested in Prince, and soon became and consider myself a huge fan strictly on musical and artistic talent!!!

Blah blah blah so I dig turning the non-initiated onto Prince. The
typical person has no clue as to the body of work Prince has. I took my
ex-girlfriend (don't ask) to the show. Actually she took me... (don't ask) and
she is an Italian girl and is into Barenaked Ladies and Dave Matthews
and crap like that. I could tell she did not understand my facination
for The Man. I am Latino and do not know too many hetero male Latinos
into Prince.
Ok so My Ex was like scanning the theatre crowd and there was a mix of
all kinds of people, of course, but she was like "Why do so many black
people like Prince?" as she noticed all the brothers and sisters in the
crowd, referring to all the heavy guitar/rock stuff I was priming her up
with in anticipation for the show. Reminder: she is not a Prince fan and
had no clue. That is the fun part!
Anywy I was like "uhhh, babe, Prince IS black..."
and she was like "I know that but from the music you have been playing
me the last couple of days it does not seem like the kinda music they
would be into" NOTE: I played her the R&RHOF Guitar Solo 5 times off of
my DVR.
The Buffalo Simulcast crowd was into it, but surprisingly a bit subdued,
except for brotherman seated 4 seats next to me who tried to supe up the
crowd, whooping and hollering throughout! He was great! The crowd
laughed and clapped at appropriate times during Prince's performance,
antics and humor, I sang a few songs and whooped a few times. P's set
was great! ? of U/The One was awesome! He Funked Controversy. Never heard him do these songs live I do not think. He had energy, he had a Tight Band, He had the charisma working... LA WAS ALIVE!! I agree with someone else's post that Purple Rain should not be an Encore. He should do it straight forward and close with maybe two or three other songs...
My ex heard "I Feel 4U", Nothing Compares 2U", and damn another song
and was like "I didn't know he sang those songs!"
I love when the un-initiated say that...
Anyway After The Show as we were walking out of the theatre she said to
me "I dunno, I musta led a sheltered childhood and never really got to
listen to him alot, but Prince is really good!"
Great Show. I wanna see him live again, maybe NYC... Cleveland....
Prince is BACK, He never went away! I wish the set was longer, but a 45-50
date tour is rather grueling so 2 1/2 hours is decent. Was There An
Aftershow in LA?
Awesome
Sorry if this was all non-interesting or rambling...
Peace

I was really surprised, Phila. had 2 rooms open for the show and they sold both of them out. I wasn't expecting so many people. It was a very good night indeed. I can't wait to see him live in Aug.
