Minnesota Simulcast: Dansa's View (heh) i got home from the theater at about 2 in the morning...didn't get to sleep till about 3 or so, cuz i was so wound up. anyhow, the show was a lotta fun--thankfully all the crazy-assed fammy-fams were in the other theater (the show played in two theaters since so many folks bought tickets!). the show started at like 10 minutes after 10 (central time)--i knew the show would start up late. ol' boy would be late to his own funeral, if it came down to it...(*snort*)! they were zoomin in at all the celebrities in the audience and folks were crackin jokes--i went "charlie mur-phaaaaay!" when eddie murphy popped up on the screen at one point. plus--did ya'll see that one woman tryin to pop a zit or sumfin on her chin? she was rather...uh, involved with her chin.
anyway, on to the show--prince had charisma pourin outta his muh'fuckin ears, man. that, and he was wigglin his ass all over the place, like it was on clearance at dayton's and last night was the final night to wiggle it. seriously, ol' boy was fuckin rockin it--dancin with all the big girls (yay!!!) and alongside chance howard (the big brotha on stage on geetar--i kept callin 'im "big puddin'"--like, "go 'head, big puddin'! shake it!!"). my personal highlights of the night: -- the arrangement of "life o' the party"--they were doin it all to james brown's "hot pants". i was like, "ooh, m'dayum!!!" -- "on the couch"...most likely there were quite a few women in the audience (me included) who came down with a chronic case of Burnt Drawerz Syndrome on that one. same with "insatiable". "purple rain" annoyed the hell outta me, as it never fails to do--i'm not a big fan of it bein played live, as it damn near always gets played as an encore. grrr. i got interviewed by channel 4--i'ma watch the news tonight and see if i ended up on there. if i did, they better have spelled my name correctly. heh. btw: hobbes, bill-eh--ya'll shoulda been in the other theater! now, i'ma go and take a nap since i didn't really get enough sleep last night...*curls up in bed and falls asleep*

I shouted Charlie Murphy too, but then my buddy upstaged me by shouting "HEY MAN, IT'S PLUTO NASH!" It cracked up this really cool dude sitting next to us. If you're reading this man, say something! I was more excitied seeing Tim Allen. My friend was all "Aw man, he doesn't deserve to be there!" And I was all thinking, "Yeah, don't you mean Prince doesn't deserve to have THE TOOL MAN in his audience?" but I didn't actually say it because someone might have thought I was serious and Home Improvement sucked. anyway, on to the show--prince had charisma pourin outta his muh'fuckin ears, man. that, and he was wigglin his ass all over the place, like it was on clearance at dayton's and last night was the final night to wiggle it. seriously, ol' boy was fuckin rockin it--dancin with all the big girls (yay!!!) and alongside chance howard (the big brotha on stage on geetar--i kept callin 'im "big puddin'"--like, "go 'head, big puddin'! shake it!!"). my personal highlights of the night: -- the arrangement of "life o' the party"--they were doin it all to james brown's "hot pants". i was like, "ooh, m'dayum!!!" -- "on the couch"...most likely there were quite a few women in the audience (me included) who came down with a chronic case of on that one. same with "insatiable". Prince was HILARIOUS dancing with the audience during Life o' The Party. Did anyone see him giving that girl the Bela Lugosi eyes? And On The Couch was awesome live! I wish I had heard it on the album first, because it was a bit of a let down afterwards (Don't get me wrong, I love the song and think it's one of the best on the album, but it was really something else live). "purple rain" annoyed the hell outta me, as it never fails to do--i'm not a big fan of it bein played live, as it damn near always gets played as an encore. grrr. i got interviewed by channel 4--i'ma watch the news tonight and see if i ended up on there. if i did, they better have spelled my name correctly. heh. btw: hobbes, bill-eh--ya'll shoulda been in the other theater! now, i'ma go and take a nap since i didn't really get enough sleep last night...*curls up in bed and falls asleep* Yeah, I was sad I didn't get to meet any of you guys! Plus, I was stuck in the other theater right to the left of the REALLY big fams, which I generally didn't mind (The cheering and such made it feel more like an actual concert, and they seemed like nice enough people), but then they started cracking jokes and laughing loudly right in the middle of Sometimes It Snows In April and it kinda ruined the performance for me. I mean, just because they've seen that a million times live doesn't mean the need to fuck it up for everyone else. But still, it didn't do much to dampen what was a really fun night. ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~

dansa! we were in the same theater and i looked but didn't see you! i'm really glad i went after all, it wasn't crowded and was in fact quite comfortable.
i loved the show. it was very satisfying to see the whole world loving prince too again and at last. but, i hear you about the purple rain encore. . . something about it struck me as wicked funny (could have been sleep deprivation/squirrely factor, too) when he kept saying 'one more time', then another time and another time and another time and then..... the simulcast looped that segment and as we were walking out the words ...."one more time" echoing after us.. .. it was great though. i was PROUD of our hero, and i loved the delicate way he introduced his spirituality, subtle, not overbearing, very nice. effective. i got his point better than the times he comes right out and TELLS us what to think and feel. .. the man is great. no doubt about it. did you end up missing him from the parties at the park? i was all nostalgic for those days

No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I was in the theater with all the "fams". A little rowdy, but I guess they's just excited. Someone was passing out lollipops to the folks in line, that was pretty cool. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
