The Minnesota Simulcast: Billy's View

Ok, there's already a ga-jillion post about the concert. I want to talk about the surroundings at the Brooklyn Center, Minnesota simulcast.

My main man Rob and I showed up at the venue at about 9:10 (10pm Start) The parking lot was packed for a Monday night at this joint. The Box Office was to much my surprise a little empty. We got our tix without a problem, but I saw my friend Sean up at the window pissed off, he had trouble getting his tickets because he said he was a recent victum of.....well, that's his business. So I'm tripping because Sean is a super Prince fan. This dude is going to all 3 shows at the X here in June. I love Prnce, but not 3 shows in a row love.

So we leave Sean and his problem at the window and we head in. Even the lobby was a little empty. The ticket taker told us our veiwing was "2 the right". That's where I saw that LOOONG as line!! I looked over "2 the Left"....same long line on that side as well. Oh snap I thought. While walking past the line, I think I saw Jillybean, was that you girl? So we get in line at the end of the damn hallway. We're not in line for long and thank God cuz this chick was behind us trying to talk to us and she stunk like all get out. She was wearing a new scent of a mixture of Budweiser and Marlboro. Damn she stunk!!

From there the line started to move, one usher put an "X" on the back of our stub, which was used to get the free CD. Then they had rental cops at the door of the theater checking stubs. So Rob and I sat way in the back, one row short of the back row, but right in the middle. This chick was walking around taking pics and handing out Tootsie Pops before the show started. This rent a cop said if he saw a camera flash during the show, he was going to put them out. I shouted "Can we see your watergun and flashlight?" Some dude was doing his version of 'Lil John's "Yaaaessss and Oh, KAAAY"! Which got a bunch of laughs from us. Then the Tootsie Pop lady said something to this bruh and called him "Rico" He then stood up and mooned the poor lady, drawing a comment from one of the rent a cops. hmmmm, could it be "THAT" Rico? (the Artist?) So I had to see for myself, I walked up to him, and the first thing I liked is that he put his hand out and didn't have a clue who I was.

I introduced myself and we talked and exchanged numbers. That's my mafucka right chea!! Once the show started, the volume was way down, but after a few shouts to the guy in the film room, it was turned up and sounded real good. The picture was crystal clear.

Now just a couple things about the concert. Was I the only one to see Prince damn near bust his azz? He was walking from one side of the stage to another, and when he got to the middle, he slipped on all that confetti?

When they was showing the crowd before the start, did you guys see this lady in all white with a veil over her head? She can be seen in some pics of the Vegas show as well. Anyway, I use to work with her in Bloomington, MN. She lives in Hawaii now, and I was not surprised to see her in L.A. last night for she's huge fan! I bet you won't believe her name...

Princess P. Nelson I swear on my God that's the truth.

Handclapaz, where were you?

We don't like New Wave!!!

(Not you, newwave!)

For some reason that was one of my favorite parts. wink
