I have had the pleasure of being in the front row at least 6 shows and it was incredible!!!! 2 go back even to the third row would be tough...Yes I have been spoiled...And I'm not a fan of seats being randomly dist. to Club Members...It wasn't a good thing here in Hawaii and it's the main reason that I'm not flying to the mainland 4 Musicology...I think the promoter will screw over Club members...Yea, you'll be close to the stage but they'll be non club members alot closer 2 U and your friends...But good luck and big Aloha 2 U~

For ONA in Cleveland, I was front row, center, about 4 feet from his mic, beside the guy with the guitars. And I got on stage for Xenophobia.

I've had front row before, but I don't like it. I feel too exposed and too self-conscious, like I always have to act like I am totally into the show in case Prince looks in my direction. I feel guilty sitting down during a song that I don't like, etc. I prefer to be in the 2nd row with a "buffer zone" in front of me.

i've had to do my share of waiting in lines for that mess. i'm over it now, lol. when p did the newpowersoul dates back in april of 1998 (the ones in small clubs) i camped out all night to get the ga tickets, then we camped out all day to get up in the front of the venue. uh uh...not any more. now, i'll buy tickets from the club and hope for the best or pay for scalped tickets. but, yeah, i've been lucky and it's been a lot of fun. in Atlantic city i stood just below prince while he did a few splits...i can now say, with much certainty, that prince does not wear underwear, lol. ahh, the benefits of first row. lol

what happened to me was the lady beside me got her tickets by knowing someone - wasn't really a big fan. She just sat there drinking her drink - Prince says to me "Sir, tell your woman to get up and dance" or something like that.

Best in 22 years (that's right 22 years of concerts and the 2002 Celebation) has been 4th row. sad

No matter how long I waited. Never been to the elusive first row.

And since I know the PPs and NPGMC keep an eye on the Org, I know I'll probably never get front row.

Anyway, I keep hoping.

Good luck.

I've been in the front row more than once... I guess that's the best I've had. But the most interesting "seat" I've had was standing sorta behind the stage, near Kirk's drums, at a late night Paisley Park gig. Much more room to breathe back there.
Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position.

I was in the front row for the Life show in NYC after the Yahoo Internet Life Awards. I was in the second row for the Atlantic City show where he twisted his ankle. Other than that I've had okay seats for shows.
Thanks,
Timmy

I don't want to be in the front row either. It's almost like you have to be ready to "perform" yourself when you're in the front row. If you don't perform like a proper excited fan, Prince will diss you razz confused

The 2nd or 3rd row is fine with me smile

My two cents...would be that a small club without seats is great. I have been packed in with a couple hundred, up to about a thousand people in three venues in Maryland, DC, and Virginia and thoroughly enjoyed all the shows.

Let's see,

First time I ever saw him front row November 19, 1982. Second Time April 10, 1983 in the first balcony. Lovesexy Tour, 12 row. Chicago, Jam of the Year Tour back of the main floor. Houston, December 31, 1997, middle of the main floor. Milwaukee, Jam of the Year, first balcony. Las Vegas, January 2, 1999, Backstage (no room in the front at Studio 54). At Paisley during Xenophobia, four rows from the back, on the seventh row. The other 54 times I saw him, I was on the first or second row standing room only.

It's better in the front because you are in his energy field.

Like most here I've been close. Second row center on ONA. Never more than 25 feet from him. If you are interested in *Prince* himself- seeing what he's going, what the band is doing- then you want to be close. You can't beat it! The excitement is tremendous!!

But if you just want to hear the jams and dance and don't care about the gear, technique, etc. then by all means save some dough and sit further back. You'll be more comfortable and you can just groove.

It all depends what you want to do, man!!

I've never been closer than about 15 rows: I was in Row G and then there were folks in front in the orchestra pit. The first year for the member presales, Chicago got screwed and clubmembers were sitting all over the place. I am glad to know that these seats are going to be way better than those. biggrin

I had 5th row seats one year when he was in Kc, but you had to pick up your tickets at the concert instead of them mailing them to you. Well.....lets just say it was a nightmare they didn't have enough people working the boths and a Chiefs game just got over. I never got in to see him that night. I waited in line for over 2 hours, people kept coming out and saying Prince was on stage, so I figured that by the time I got in there I wouldn't see much of the show. Then come to find out on the news he wasn't on stage yet, Prince waited until everyone got into the building. I was pretty pissed off at Prince for awhile. I'm glad this time we get our tickets in advance!!!!

At the ONA IN Dallas, I was in the front row. There were probably 14 or so other people there with me. It was nice to be that close, but the music was a little distorted because I was right beside a speaker and it took me a few days to be able to hear again. I even had better seats than Erica Badu thanks to the music club.

I've only been to 1 Prince show & that was in Monreal on the ONA tour. I sat front row, dead center, directly in front of his mic stand. What a dream come true for my first Prince show.
