Cleveland Show, out of towners

Me and my best friend are coming up to Cleveland for the April 17th show.. (just bought our tix on the presale!)

Anyways, we're from Nashville, (say it with me now.. YEEEE- HAW eek ) and just wondering if there are any recommendations as far as cool places to go after the show. Given that there is no afterparty. We're gonna come up that Friday and hope to hit the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Saturday.

Thanks for anyone who has help! See ya'll at the show!

Could I reccomend a few good meet-and-greet pre-show places right near Gund Arena? Three places -- Hard Rock Cafe in Tower City Center (Walkway to Gateway/The Gund/Jacobs Field), Fat Fish Blue, on the corner of Prospect and Ontario, a few blocks from the concert venue
-- http://www.fatfishblue.com/ -- , or The Winking Lizard Taven on Prospect -- http://www.winkinglizard.com/ .

All three very cool places to meet before the gig. These are the places The Detroit Crawl motor babies plan on meeting. We have not decided on one yet, but we have some time ... I have been to all three, but Fat Fish Blue is the closest to the venue.

Since you are in town Friday, April 16, you might want to scope out The Warehouse District -- West Third, West Sixth and West Ninth. This is a nice little entertainment district. As well check out Spy Bar on West sixth -- http://www.spycleveland.com . This is the club that will host the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame simulcast afterparty, late night March 15.

You might want to check out Wish across the street. That is the afterparty location from the Hit n Run 2000 November gig.

Also drive down Euclid Avenue to just before East 55th and inquire at The Agora Theatre and Ballroom. George Clinton and P-Funk usually play there and Prince, back in 1985, appeared on stage with Shelia E (Big Chick pushed a local TV cameraman and sued then Prince for not being able to get Prince's image on tape for a TV report that night ... but that is another story for another time).

The Rock Hall will have an induction section for the 2004 inductees. I hear a very nice Prince display is in the works. The Rock Hall also has his Rude Boy purple jacket in the clothing timeline display in the main exhibition space. Also you will be one of the first to see Prince's crystal light signature in the actual Hall of Fame section of the museum.

Good luck in getting to Cleveland.

I'm not coming from as far away as ElectricChair, just coming from Wooster here. But I think meeting up with fellow fans at the rock and roll hall of fame would be cool. Also, electricchair, you said "Given that there is no afterparty". Where was this said? I was under the impression that the status of an aftershow/afterparty won't be known until after the actual concert is over. I'm going to both columbus and cleveland myself hoping to go to at least one aftershow. I've been to many prince concerts, but never have been able to make it to an aftershow.

Well, he's playing in PA the day after Cleveland...so he'll have to be pretty fired up to play an aftershow in Cleveland...then again, how can he not play an aftershow in the city of the RnRHOF museum? Hmm...

We gotta make sure he WANTS to play an aftershow. wink

well, that makes it less likely. During the ONA tour there was no aftershow because he had a show the next day that was a long drive away. I don't think the drive to PA is quite as far, though. I hope he at least has one the night before in columbus - the drive to cleveland from there is short.

I do agree that it doesn't seem right to come to the home of the rock and roll hall of fame and not do something special.
