How does NPGMC divvy up tickets?

Hey everyone!

Just got my NPGMC tickets for L.A. this morning... yeah!

Does anyone know how they divvy up the tickets? Do we just find out where we're sitting when we show up at will call? Do you think it matters what time you bought them?

Anyone have any answers?

Thanks,

See y'all in Hollywood!!

Anxiety

I've been wondering about this, too. When we show up for Will Call, do they assign tix at random, or is it first come/closest seats?

Apparently it is supposed to be random.

I've been trying to get a straight, concise answer to this and no one's (PP9) is giving any info.

I know this is supposed to help get rid of lines, but if they're not giving the proper information, there's still gonna be people lining up.

Wondering if we can call the venue and find out.

Also, wondering if it is random, how random is it?

I wonder how sophisticated their ticket allocation system is?

I guess we'll find out when we get there!!

I doubt it is as sophisticated as many of you may suspect. In my experiences, the people selling the pre-sale tickets are a different group entirely. They usually provide the venue with a list of names for the show. On this list will be the names and seat numbers for those names. Usually you buy a certain seat, but in this case I would assume that they will just place a seat number next to each name on the list. This could be as easy as just doing it in whatever way they see the names come up or drawing names out of a hat.
I would suspect they will just pick names at random and give them a seat. Where you could be lucky is if a specific NPGMC employee is doing the choosing and you happen to be friends with them on the NPGMC message boards or something like that. But then again, I would suspect that the NPGMC has hired an outside firm to handle the pre-sale tickets.

In any event, it should be random and you will find out where your seats are when you go pick up your tickets from the ticket window. But think of it this way, the seats will be great, they are reasonably priced and there were no service charges! I'm happy already.

Uh, yeah.....that's EXACTLY what I'm afraid of. I'm FAIRLY sure that nobody on the NPGMC staff would be able to resist sticking my ass in the worst seats available. Who knows though..maybe I've overestimated the depths of their bitterness.

According to PP9 on the Club site, the Club gives a list of Names (and the number of requested tickets) to the promoter. The promoter will then give that list to the venue to print up the tickets. The venue prints up the tickets and stuffs them into the will call envelopes for pick up the night of the show.

Therefore, according to PP9, it does not matter when you bought your pre-sale tickets, and lining up early to get them from will-call will not improve your seats any.

So they've decided to do it randomly then? Or am I not understanding the concept here...

Personally I think it's kinda lazy not to give 4-year members or 2-year members or 1-year members priority over Joe Schmoe ticket broker who joined yesterday...but I'm sure it would take a little bit of extra work.

you are going to the Pa show, right? I already called the Bryce Jordan Center and they told me that they have no idea what the club is doing with our tickets. She said they just bought what they wanted and that's it. She also said that we had to wait to get our tix at Will Call and b4 the show (I asked if we could get our tickets earlier in the day or the day b4). This sux to me because I want to know where I am sitting. Those who buy tickets from ticket master know where they are.....sad I hate anticipation!!!!! It kills me and I have NO patience! I know I won't care where I am when he begins to play, but I just want to know where I am planting my ass til the music begins... lol
