Anyone joining npgmusicclub just for tickets?

I was wondering if it would make sense for me to joing the club now if i wanted to purchase tickets for US tour dates. I'm trying to avoid spending more money than i need to. Thanks to anyone who can help me.

yea, 25 is a nice price i agree, but what if the tix don't get sold till next year. then it will cost me 125 instead of just 100. Wait, did i just say just 100?

For $25 I got 5 soundchecks and 2 aftershows and 2 afterparties (could've gone to Brisbane aftershow as well..just too tired)
Some club members got mad because they didn't wait to buy their tix thru the club for the second shows in Melbourne and Sydney and they had to pay an extra $70-80 for the aftershows, so I've got the most out of the club as you can get.

And another question if i may, is the cost of re-joining cheaper than just joining initially?

I'm also considering joining solely for the crass purpose of getting the best tix when the tour will reach DC. Perhaps some of you can answer a few questions, based on past experience:

1. Is there a lag time between joining and when the NPGMC computers show you as a member, eligible for early ticket purchase?

2. Do the NPGMC tickets cost more than the best seats one would get through Ticketmaster? Do the NPGMC seats have designated seat numbers, or is it a rush to get the best seat when you're allowed to go into the soundcheck?

3. If I can't make the souncheck due to work, etc., can I still get good reserved seats for the shows through NPGMC, rather than take my chances and getting crappy seats with Tickmaster?

4. What is the seat limit per purchase for each member? Does this apply to each show or globally?

Thanks in advance, and feel free to add any other related advice on this matter.

Nah, I just joined for the company of ignorant, brain-washed, illiterate, bottom-feeding sheep.

Well, here's my experience from the ONA tour last year, your mileage may vary.

1. No lag time. I joined the club five seconds after it was announced the tour was coming to my town, had no problem getting tickets, which went on sale a few days later.

2. NPGMC price vs. Ticketmaster, don't remember. But, at our concert the NPGMC members queud up and, for the most part, seats were allocated as such. A few sorry mf'ers tried to skip ahead and when members complained, the staff moved them towards the back of the NPGMC seats.

3. I believe you can still get good seats if you miss the soundcheck. Probably not front row though.

4. 2 seats per member. You and a guest. Guest will probably have to pay to see the aftershow. But you can go to as many separate concerts as you want.

Of course this was all last year and just my personal experience. again, ymmv.

For the Aussie shows, you picked up an envelope before going into the soundcheck and your seat numbers were already allocated, so there was no point queuing at the venue. I thought it worked well enough. There was some panic among npgmc members when the second dates in Melbourne and Sydney were put on sale because ticketek were already selling diamond tix...BUT if you jumped the gun early and bought tix for the second show from ticketek before you could buy them at npgmc then you couldn't attend the soundcheck and you had to pay for the aftershows, which pissed some members off, but HE PLAYED AT BOTH AFTERSHOWS AFTER THE THE SECOND NIGHTS so you should definitely hold back and wait to get tix thru the club because it's not like the aren't going to sell tix to members.

and.. your guest does get a wristband for the after party - so they do not have to pay.

No booking fees either for the Diamond tix through NPGMC.. so that the only difference for me.

I have worked out that from joining NPGMC I have saved something like $105 Australian dollars - as I would have had to pay for the 3 after show parties that I attended

1. Aftershow party Melbourne no. 1 = $30
2 Aftershow party Melbourne no. 2 = $70
3. Aftershow party Brisbane = $50
= $150 now minus the joining fee of $45 (approx.)

Total saving of $105 Australian.. pretty good deal in my eyes. (not to mention my friend attending after party as my guest and saving that extra $30 too).

It sounds like the tix for US tour won't be going on sale until next year. I should probably just wait to join then?
