The Rod Laver Arena is the best venue in Australia

Prince was superb, amazing, the greatest concert I have seen in my life.
The acoustics at the Rod Laver Arena on the Wednesday night were amazing.
Unlike most stadiums, there was no reverberation, you could hear a pin drop.
The sound was so clear and pristine, unlike the venues in other cities, (which I have visited).
I look forward to seeing and hearing Prince in Melbourne again soon.
Party people y'all!
As Prince said, Melbourne is the party capital.

I had friends who sat in the upper level and they said the sound was horrible, boomy and echo-y. On the floor the sound was great. You must have had a good seat.

I was on the second level, directly in front, and the sound was amazing, on the second night after fine-tuning.
For a stadium, Rod Laver is the best venue in Australia, and I hope Prince revisits ASAP.

It is sad to see Prince is playing The Sydney Entertainment Centre. It is a lousy ugly venue, a horror of the 70s, with poor acoustics. Man, we in Melbourne were so lucky to see and hear the genius artist in his prime at Rod Laver Arena, on the second nite. Undoubtedly, the best stadium venue in Australia. Party people y'all...

I disagree...

Rod Laver Arena is a tennis centre - let's get that straight! The acoustics are shocking and if you were unlucky enough to be anywhere else but the centre floor then you would see (hear) my point!

Both shows were still incredible, but as for acoustics the Sydney Entertainment Centre will sound much better - concert FOH sound should be strong and clean not deafening and distorted!

Bring on the Sydney shows...

No need for harsh words...

I have been to both soundchecks, both shows and both aftershows in Melb, plus will be at all of Sydney's upcoming shows too...I have seen heaps of shows at both venues and IMO Rod Laver is amazing for Tennis and the SEC is great for concerts...full stop! We'll just wait for Prince to rip up Sydney..Melb Oct 22nd was a warm up!

As for your second useless post...you obviously are ignorant to Sydney as a city!

We all know Melbourne is the music capital of Australia.
Sydney might have a harbor, but it doesn't count in terms of music

By the way, I made a positive comment that Rod Laver is the best concert venue in Australia, IMHO, from experience...and then all these negative posters made their negative comments, putting their 2 cents in.
Create positive energy, that's what Prince is all about.
In response to the negative comments, just said not so impressed by the Sydney venue, because it is not acoustically designed, and that's true...
So I made a positive comment, and then got all the negative ones, which creates negativity in itself.
Peace and love, y'all.
And Prince.
It's all about the music...

if the Rod Laver is a damn tennis court

the SEC is just a big bloody basketball court

they are both pretty shitty places for a concert

I could name many better places in both cities...

But I won't.
Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

I also went to both Melbourne concerts and agree wholeheartedly with David. Both nights were acoustically excellent; the 2nd concert even sounding slightly better following minor adjustments after the 1st night.

Melbourne is definitely the music capital of Australia. The inspired brilliance of the second concert was a fitting testimony to this.

I very much doubt that Prince will wait another 11 years to return after experiencing the finest (stadium) concert venue in the country, if not, as David has already pointed out, the entire world.

Tennis court by day, perhaps. But at night, in full concert mode, it is a wonder to behold.
