How did tonight's show go Anthony? I'm assuming you weren't there, so I guess you're watching the Rage special now like me, huh?
If you know how it went, let us know. If LG was there, I'm pretty glad I only went last night. I was almost going to buy a cheap seat for tonight again, but glad I didn't cause I had a great diamond seat last night. Nothing could have topped last night, for me. . Our best bet would be to persuade the Department of Justice and the State Department to deny him re-entry into the US. Maybe a lot of e-mails to Attorney General John Ashcroft and Secretary of State Colin Powell saying we saw Larry and Osama yukkin' it up at the Sydney After-Party will do the trick. C'mon people!

All the Aussies still watching the rage special? I must say, well done to them. So far there have been the extended videos for both Partyman and Thieves In The Temple.
10 points to them. And is everyone taping it? God knows how long till they show it again!

A question for some folks here: would you rather watch Prince play with LG, or not watch Prince play at all???
BTW, apparently there were three people playing bass at the same time, Rhonda, Larry and Prince. I bet that sounded great. [This message was edited Sat Oct 25 10:00:04 PDT 2003 by sabaisabai] Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

As soon as Larry hit the stage at the Celly I was out in the lobby chatting with my friends. I seen Larry walk out and started chanting "It's Ova! It's Ova" and walked out.

I'm glad there are others out here who have issues with Mr Graham. My husband can't understand why everytime his name is mentioned I groan.
Whilst I have my reasons, what is it that other people have against him?

Y'all can hate on Larry all you want, but when he is playing he's playing his ass off. His appearances on stage with P in the last few years have been limited to strictly playing (not preaching) so it's been cool to me. "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32

Yeah but don't he no anymore songs than The Jam, Take You Higher and Everday People??? "Touch the bass!"

Forget about everything else, the man can play! lol It was excellent! The aftershow was unforgetable, he played a killer version of Purple Rain, the way it's meant to be experienced.

I have never heard bass played like Larry played!!!
He was amazing and tore it up. I'm a new fan of Larry...I tell u. There was no preaching the whole tour and I admire Prince for that - I really think he knows what the fans think and takes it to heart! I sincerely want 2 fuck the taste out of your mouth

You guys can hate on Larry all you like but he tore shit up last night. He can play that style of bass better than any man on this planet.
Just seeing/hearing the three bass duel between Prince, Larry and Rhonda was out of this world! They ripped up The Jam then Days of Wild. I'm talking three bass playing on Days of Wild!!! My ribcage is still rattling from it all. Awesome experience (bkw still shaking head in disbelief ) Those who were there know the truth. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

And if u dont see that musically P. was inspired by Sly and family Stone...oh well nevamind...Im sure u love to hate someone... --- Where am I? ---
Tell me who in this house knows about the quake?

These freaks on here are not happy unless they hate someone. Funny how you hate Larry for being a JW but when it comes to Prince you accept it because it's Prince...rather a shallow and fickle attitude...quite pathetic.
You should appreciate the talent that Larry has and feel privelaged to witness such an amazing musician. Get a life!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
the reason why is simple, at least for non-paisley heads -a.k.a. Prince's ass kissers -: Larry Graham and the JW's have ruined Prince music and career. Those facts have alienated so many old time fans like me. Did you ever happen to think that the JW's are a cult??? Period.

Have you seen or heard any of these shows being discussed? I can see you turning green from here. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

How can you be 100% sure that Larry Graham has ruined Prince's music because he turned him into a JW (I'd love to see the proof of that rather than just hearsay), name me one artist that consistantly produces amazing bodies of work throughout their whole career.
Everybody just needs somebody to blame..its simple human nature.
