well now it is 1am in sydney and nobody has posted any reviews yet - hinting that nobody has actually gotten home yet - further hinting there is an afterparty or aftershow going on right now...  Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now! |

afterparty but no aftershow i'm afraid
p turned up, played a tambourine, smiled and grooved a little, then left. it was good to see him again for just that little while, but i don't care if he didn't play because i just saw the best concert of my life! | |

I couldn't beieve how many people were there 4 soundcheck...musta been 500-1000...and I got front centre!!! made it worth the expence of travelling from Dunedin, New Zealand...and then 2 get 1 of John's drumsticks...being 5'3'' does have its advantages...I got 2 the floor first!!! sorry Joshy..I woulda loved 2 break it in half and give u half...but well...I just couldn't ...to get a pxt photo with JB and then 4 him 2 chat 2 us and sign my 'stick' made up 4 no aftershow (although 2 b 2 feet away from prince and make eye contact was soo cool...just a shame we waited 4 so long expecting a show...nevermind)...the main event was awesome, best performance I have seen - even better than the ONA boots I have..the set list is perfect - enough hits 4 the masses and enough 'rarely played stuff' 4 us connesuirs (spelling)...the sound was awesome, I was in front row centre 4 soundcheck and section C row 7/16 for the main event -but thankfully I managed to get to about c row 3 approx seat 4 or thereabouts - about 2 metres to the right of centre stage...friggin awesome..he was in a great mood...musiciology/life of the party (is it the same song?) is awesome live...I hope the studio version is close cos this is a funky funky tune!!! I wondered if the band could b as funky as the gold era npg...and believe me they r and more...rhonda. rad, chance, reneto, john, maceo Greg (I take back ever saying I don't like the trombone) and Prince...the scariest band ever!!! my ears r still ringing...and as 4 the song 'don't let me sleep on the couch' (don't know official title) - what a classic!! the fishing is better down south - indeed...just an awesome day...1 that will b hard 2 top if I ever get another opportunity - and frankly - i wouldn't mind now if I didn't c P live again - I don't know how he would top it...this has cost me a small fortune and it was worth every cent!!!
now back 2 reality - on the plane in an hour or 2 back 2 Christchurch/Akaroa and then a 6 hour drive down 2 Dunedin...sleep will b good about then!!! |
