First Melbourne Show set list

Sorry guys. When I got home last night I just put down a general review 4 those waiting.
The set went
Lets go crazy (and we did)
I woulddie 4 u
Intro of 1999
Doves cry
Shhh
DMSR
? of U
I feel 4 U
The beautiful 1s
Lets work
Controversy
Insatiable
The 1
U got the look
Sign o the times
Soul man
Nothing compares 2 u/ Fallen
Take me with u
Kiss
Purple Rain

Not in that order but after how pumped I was I cant remember which great sone came when.
His last song b4 encore he said "dont hate me coz Im fabulous" and he is.
He dedicate Purple Rain to a mother and daughter he met backstage who told him that she grew up woth his music nd now so did her daughter.
Great show but not for the non die hards as most ofthem expected (Ithink) nothing but radio songs.

Anxiety

As far as this American diehard can see, the set list is overwhelmingly radio-hit-friendly. I'll be interested to see if he markets this tour to the casual music fan when he brings it to the States, cuz the fans here have heard these tunes waaay too many times live and on TV performances throughout the years.

Of course, I'll go either way, even if I have to bring a book.

I agree, it's the most hit friendly setlist he's performed for some time - just as the press preamble announced!

BTW - is there any noise at all about this tour going any further than Australia (apart from calling it a World Tour?)
ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Give or take its the full set list. It totally went off!!
Its hard to beleive we havent seen him in sooo long. He looked and sounded as perfect as ever. I dont know about you guys but I found a lot of people around me just didnt know the songs unless they were released here which I found a little odd as I was on the floor but they still couldnt keep still.
I dont think I would have wanted to have paid for the VIP tickets and sat on stage though coz as far as I could see those people saw his back and missed the performance.
Maybe somone who was there could let us know?

It was superfunkycaiafragisexy in my eyes.

I think this is a great mix of hits and other songs from his back catalog. If you look at it there are a lot of obscure songs as far as the casual fan goes. Let's Work, Shhh, The One, Question of U, Controversy, etc, could all have been replaced with Little Red Corvette, 1999 (full version), Raspberry Beret, TMBGITW. The set he did is much more fun and interesting.
Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.
