Ok, don't know what forum to put this in, but this needs 2 be let out of my system.

Im not announcing anything new here by saying Australian radio is fucked hard. But what really erks me to no end is how they give NO support in playing Prince's music ( im not talking the occasional spin of "Kiss" or "When Doves Cry"), then we have these jerk off DJ's get on and annouce to every man & his dog "Hey, Prince is doing a secret gig at Bennets Lane...Blah Blah Blah..."

Then these so called "fans" who blew in off the street, legend in their own foodcourt, wannabe's and c - list celebs, rock up , no questions asked, get let in, while NPGMC members have to listen to it from outside the gigs.

If they announce these aftershows on radio DURING the actual Prince concerts, then by the time the show finishes and fans and NPGMC members head to over to the aftershow, chances are the lines are going to be hella deep, and most fans will miss out on the experience.

Anyone feel my pain on this one?

I stopped lsitening 2 radio at least 10 years ago, just couldn't take it anymore. The ads, the chessiness, the shit humor, the annoying voices etc., and the TOTAL disrespect 4 a true 'artist' such as PRINCE.

But enuff complaining 4 now, yake it away playa...

As far as i understand yesterdays show wasnt intended for NPGMC members. At the normal show u get a wristband that lets u into the aftershow so that wouldnt be any problem...be glad u dont have to pay an extra $100 as on ONA Europe tour...

and yes it is kinda stupid that not so hardcore prince fans got in, but maybe the annoucement was for the hardcore fans who didnt know about it(ahem).
i guess radio stations need to promote things and often pride themselves on their ability to keep people up to speed with whats happening with music.

yeah but from a radio publicity point of view they would want all their listeners to hear the news from them first.

not that im standing up for it, cause it sucks that people didnt get in who should have been there, but im trying to see it from the perspective of a radio announcer.

I agree with the radio comments but at the end of the day, really does it matter?
I mean, yes some of us 15 year long + fans stood outside like lemmings just to get a listen but the fly by night, fairweather fans totally miss the Prince experience and thats the point in the end.
i dont care that the radio play shit music all the time and give away things like that coz hey, if they see him and dont feel it then its like sex with a guy with a small dick and who cant use it either.
Dont let it bother you, we win in the end and it may just bring some of them into the dawn. Thats would be the ultimate prize for us who have bathed in it for so long. Dont you think?
