just witnessed an amazing sound check, better than the day before.

walked down listening to prince centre stage at a keyboard and rad as well but no one else.

singing SUPERSTION. very funky went for ages. i was front and centre which was awesome. the band slowly came and joined in. no rondah for a while though. that finished with prince doing a bit of drums just to tease us then finishing.

he was wearing black pants and turtle neck. no sunglasses; he was in a very good fun mood. joking at people shouting out things at him.

then other funk songs with crowd singing involement.
that stoped then another funky song (not prince) started with awesome vocals.

maceo was beautiful.
prince let the band jam, while he walked off the stage to the side and strutted around the crowd till he was behind everyone in the centre of the venue dancing and having fun. speaking a bit to the sound techs at the back. no one went up to him though. he then picked up his guitar on stage and did some cool funky stuff. the whole deal.


when that was over. things chilled out a bit and he started joy in repitition. this was awesome. very chill and cool. his funny man in the pit set up a mic stand and put up the lyrics for him.
during the first verse of it he asked the funny man to come up and he wispered in his ear.

then the funny man went back into the pit and sprayed the blue guitar (simple looking; don't know what it's called) with that lube stuff so it was really slippery. by now rohda had joined in(she was so hot and her hair do was massive) with clipping fat bass. he then made maceo solo who played so sweet as he slowly took the stairs down toward the crowd.

then came the magnificent guitar going off ending.(like it aint over) on the blue guitar. just brilliant. all smiles and funny faces

can't wait for tonight. got 6th row as well. although it will probably be alot the same as last night. it will still be awesome.

and we got wrist bands for the after show at the METRO. and he will have to play cause it is this massive old theatre. and i think they told us he will play.

it is the southern hemispheres biggest club
can't wait

I got some txt messages from my mate Justin and the Org's very own JOSHY.

According to Joshy's txt, Joshy yelled out to Prince "Joy In Repetition", and he started to play it (so be prepared for Joshy posts with he's take on this)

This sound check was shorter than 1st nights, around 45mins in total, walked through crowd to check sound levels, lots of jamming on keys.

Maceo met fans as well, and signed my friend's VIP laminate.

That's the only information i have to hand at the moment.

Oh also, don't know the entire track listing as to what was played at soundcheck, but I got a voicemail on my phone at 4:16pm from Joshy. All i could hear was Joshy chanting the "Get Wild" and "Shake U're Money Maker" chant, so don't know if that was part of soundcheck???

& i was ad-libbing. (sndcheck besides Bambi yesterday & JoyInrep 2day is a bit of a blur in parts...it'll come back2me.)

& yep i did yell it out & no more than 5 seconds later he started playing it.

yesterday someone yelled BAMBI & 5-10 mins later he coupled that with WholeLottaLove.

cuz my voice was (still is) half gone...when i talk i sound like ima bout 2 cry.

so when i yelled out "THANK U MAN!!!" ...he repliedin a sad crying voice:"THANK U MAAAN!"

it was AWESOME!

he paid me out...then played my SONG!!!

During the long funk jamming he did the "Shake your money maker" chant a la George Clinton. He also did "We Want the Funk" which the whole crown joined in!
