Please dont hold me to this bit of information, but I have just heard that Prince will be performing at Bennett's Lane tonight - a small jazz club in Melbourne ...Apparently tickets are $20- at the door, and word is travelling fast around melbourne. Prince has hired out the club from 11pm til 2am.

Again, whether this is a rumour im not sure...Four all you Melbournites, i hope its true...HAVE FUN and FINGERS CROSSED

So how we will we know for certain? I don't wanna leave the house that late if it's not on, plus with work and all 2moro. So how do i find out officially.. any clues.. I just checked the Bennetts Lane website and some other act is on 2nite, so I'm assuming they have cancelled it.

Your right Sabaisabai, I might call the venue and pretend I'm ringing in regards to Jazz and my swing dance school and see if they say it is closed for the evening... then I will know for sure.

Exactly Sab, you just never know with him. Apparently long queue's are expected, and it only holds around 300 people. I was told people shld get there round 8pm(ish).

Someone just called the venue and they have a jazz TRIO band on between 9ish to 12.30 for $10 and $8 concession.

Hey kylee, I just saw that aswell...trio gig at bennets lane...I really wanna know if this prince gig is true!...do you think we can find out by ringing people in the idustry...other venues???

Yeah, but I don't know if other avenues will be open now to call... this SUX! I don't know what to do... I so need some sort of sign this is for sure. I don't know who to call.

Maybe we can call Manchester Lane in the city.. I'm sure they would have been approached also regarding a venue (they are a jazz club too)... maybe they will know.

I've come a long way to see the show tomorrow night. A couple of hours effort the night before for a potential once-in-a-lifetime experience of this kind is worth trying for...so guess where i'm going now...makeup...money...keys...taxi!!!

There are apparantly 200-300 people lined up outside in a venue that only takes about 300. Why would they not say Prince is playing by now.

I read over at NPGMC that there has been about 300 - 400 people lined up (and growing), that the club holds about 110 people in total, the bouncers are saying to people "No Prince", and the last post i read, they have shut the doors, club is full!

stood outside. two metres from the door for seven hours and didn't get in.
