Manchester 8th (2nd Show) Set list

From Memory, (please let me know if I forgot one)

Sound Check (55 mins)

Money Don't matter 2nite
1+1+1=3 groove, + housequake
The Question of U (brilliant version!) + Fallin in Love with You
Pop Life
Sign of the times

Show ( 2 hours 15 mins)

Rainbow Children
Muse
Money Don't matter 2nite
The Work Part 1 (the funkiest version so far)
Extrodinary
Mellow
Strollin
Got A Broken Heart Again
1+1+1 (inc housquake and Rollercoaster of love)
Strange Relationship
When U were mine
Sign Of the Times (sooo funky)
Take Me With U
Raspberry Beret
Everlasting Now

Encore

Pop Life
Alphabet Street (seriouly re-worked)
All the Critics love U in London/England + A Love Bizzare

2nd Encore

The Ballard Of Dorothy parker
The Beautiful Ones
Nothing Compares 2 U

3rd Encore

The Ladder (best version yet)

Notable absentees:

The Piano/acoustic set
Family Name.
Whole Lotta Love (Sign Of the Times was better)

Prince again picked up on the same faces being in the front rows, and asked why the new poeple shouldn't be sat at the front. Not suprisingly, no one in the front made comment.

Overall, I don't think Prince was in the best of moods. Of course he was professional for the main show, but he seemed subdued in the Soundcheck, cut the show short, and had no afterparty/show.

Must be saving his energy for the funky Irish!

Looks right to me. The Work Part one was fantastic. It works much better when Prince uses his deeper voice.

I wondered the same thing.

Maybe he's getting a little bored of TRC after a year. I am! wink

Essence

You forgot "You Own Me". I assume that's the title, it's the only song he performed I wasn't familiar with although its been performed on previous dates I see listed as "You & Me".

I agree on the abrupt ending, no piano medley, no Family Name and rumoured cancelled aftershow, sad end to UK tour.

"you own me" - I was wondering what that was - I think it was during "strollin" wasn't it?

who's song is that ?

I agree about the ending - I was looking forward to a piano or acoustic guitar segment after reading some other reviews but never mind

Couldn't believe most of the dancers on stage didn't know the words to Love Bizarre! - that was woeful!

Funky night - It was the only one I've seen this time round so - I'd rather he was subdued than not seeing him.

Spoke to Rhonda after the gig and asked about the after party - she said as they were flying to Dublin first thing in the morning that there would be no party - she apologised.
