Tragedy has struck in Prince’s hometown less than a mile from where he graduated high school. On May 30, 2020, Prince’s long-time Paisley Park DJ, DJ Dudley D (Dustin Meyer) will stream Prince music from Minneapolis to around the globe to raise money for the Minneapolis chapter of the Minneapolis chapter of the NAACP.

Prince said “Music is healing. Music holds things together”. Minneapolis needs healing now more than ever. This event is being created to help in that healing process.

This stream will be presented live on Facebook (Paisley Nights page) and Twitch (www.twitch.tv/paisleynights).

This not the first time Prince Music has been played to bring hope in the midst of tragedy. On May 2, 2015, Prince held "Dance Rally 4 Peace" at Paisley Park to bring awareness to the escalating tensions in Baltimore surrounding the death of Freddie Gray.

Before and after that night's performance Prince’s longtime DJ, DJ Dudley D played numerous Prince Songs that addressed issues of social justice. Those songs along with the performance of Prince and his band 3rd Eye Girl made the energy electric that night. The day after that show at Paisley Park Prince asked Dudley D to create a mix featuring Prince Music that spoke to the times. DJ Dudley D created this mix with input from Prince. It was played before Prince’s Baltimore concert on May 10th and was also live-streamed to the world at that time.
