Prince Live On The Big Screen was phenomenal Just got back from seeing Prince Live On The Big Screen and I have one word for the show: phenomenal. It was all footage of Prince with the live backing band. The footage was taken from different Welcome 2 America shows. The backing band was Shelby, Kirk, Kip, Kat, Cassie, NPG Horns and I’m not sure the other keys player or who was on bass. The band was tight and never out of sync with the video of Prince. The footage was amazing video quality. As good as the band was I hardly ever looked at them because I was focus on the big screen with Prince. Shelby was sort of master of ceremonies but there was very little talking in between songs. It wasn’t about Shelby or the band it was about Prince. I’m still amazed at how they were able to pull it off. I felt like I was at a Welcome 2 show. And the sound in the arena was amazing too. Die hard fans who want more than just the hits probably would have been disappointed but considering the audience this was perfect. I didn’t know what to expect going in and was worried about how polished it would be or if it would feel weird but it didn’t at all. It felt like Prince was right there on stage with the rest of the band. It felt good. Obviously someone professional who’s done this before directed this. Hats off to them. I don’t know if Paisley has any plans to take it on the road but they could. It was that good. 💜 Paisley Park is in your heart

They had to probably edit a few parts out of the show so that explains when they would cut away from him. This was as close to a Prince concert as we will get. It shows him at what I define as his love performance peak playing lots of great songs. This should be seen by the world.

Agree 100%; glad I made the trip! To me, it felt like a real celebration of Prince. At one point, I got lost in the moment while watching the big screen and I thought, for one a second, that if I looked on stage, I’d see Prince...a bit bittersweet but it felt great to see him up there! rogifan said: Just got back from seeing Prince Live On The Big Screen and I have one word for the show: phenomenal. Yes, those two hours were very special, especially after this week. rogifan said: stlmuziqlvr said: Agree 100%; glad I made the trip! To me, it felt like a real celebration of Prince. I saw Adrian Crutchfield at Paisley on Sat and told him that he had to take this show on the road....

According to Jon Bream the concert footage was from the Carolinas W2A shows. Also apparently Joel Weinshanker as the Celebration attendees if he should take this show on the road and the crowd was enthusiastic about it. Bream thinks if they do they should move the video screen of Prince to the front with the band behind. http://www.startribune.co...mp;clmob=y Paisley Park is in your heart

That was quite moving. And it worked because they actually did sing it together (many times). In fact Shelby was wearing the same outfit as she had on in the original show. Paisley Park is in your heart

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Orchestras do this all the time now. The screen should be raised high above the stage with the musicians further toward the back of the screen with low lighting so that the view of the movie isn't blocked. Something like this: "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Funkenberry talked about this show on his latest podcast. Wasn’t much of a review though. He’s hard to listen to because he’s so depressing. Every word he utters is like he feels he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. He was bummed that there were only 7,000 at the show. Considering nobody knew what to expect or who would be performing AND considering it got moved to Friday because of the Timberwolves I think that’s pretty damn good. Paisley Park is in your heart
