Prince: Live on the Big Screen-- NO better than TImberlake??

Funny that people were pissed that JT sang to a visual/audio recording of Prince (due to feeling that it was too close to a hologram) , but no one seems to care that these folks are doing the same thing and on the anniversary of his death.

Are they doing that? I can't find anything that says that, I'm under the impression that Shelby and Paul Peterson and Liv are on vocals?

I am sorry. I got it confused with "Prince-Live on the big screen" which occurs on April 20th (was 21st), but my point stands. I will change the heading.

Ah right, yeah I suppose you're not wrong. I'd probably go if it played near me but I'd definitely feel a bit guilty.

I think its more about Justin Timberlake being the person doing this, than singing along with an audio/ video.

Nope. No holograms, no images projected onto sheets and no singing along with Prince on the "big screen". If the bands want to do tribute shows fine. If the estate wants to show concerts on the big screen, fine. But live musicians playing along with recordings of Prince can stuff it. I'll pass every time.

Don't hate your neighbors. Hate the media that tells you to hate your neighbors.

Jon Bream weighs in.

I would prefer the tribute be in June vs April but I don’t think anyone participating is celebrating his death. Honestly for me I prefer June over April because of the weather more than anything else (we’re getting a foot of snow this weekend). I mean if his birthday was in January or February I wouldn’t want events then either. At some point though fans need to accept it and move on, and don’t participate if it bothers you that much.

I do wish the people involved with Celebration did a better job of promoting it. Instead of getting an article like this reach out to Bream or members of local TV News or the Current and offer up interviews with associates involved in the events. Not people sniping on the sidelines. Shelby and others have been here rehearsing, get them all over local news promoting it.
