I hope it plays here in the States. I never did get to see this on the big screen so it's on my bucket list.

Still haven´t found a movie theater in my area that is willing to show this.

That doesn't look any different than the Bluray to my eyes. Most of the scenes in the Japanese Bluray were VERY sharp and vibrant. A few scenes weren't however, and the trailer pretty much showed only the scenes that looked great.

When I see terms like digitally restored or remastered I expect a noticeable upgrade in visual quality.

Of course, that is not to say that it wouldn't be awesome to see it in the theater with other fans.

And maybe I'm taking this too literally. Maybe they're just saying this is a digitally restored version of the film - not a NEWLY digitally restored film.

It looked pretty good on Showtime last month too. I would have thought that was a restored version.

But I checked out that page that lists those movie theaters in Europe that are going to screen SOTT, and while there are at least half a dozen in Amsterdam and in Rotterdam each, there is not a single one in my vicinity. And I mean big cities, not some rural areas.

The Netherlands have always had a special relationship with Prince.

The sample on YouTube is supposed to be 1080p (which is actually quite small) with no indication of bitrate and I'm watching on a retina screen BUT the quality is appauling.

Why can't everyone else see the massive amount of noise in the image particularly the background.

There is also massive inconsistency in quality between shots.

I don't see any improvement to what we already have.

Could you please post that link? I can’t find any cinemas in the UK showing it.

Yes - may we have the link to the cinemas showing it, please? You'd think they'd have it in the UK, to tie in with the exhibition at the O2. I REALLY want to see this on the big screen!
