Staying in Minneapolis - hotel/guesthouse suggestions? Hi Guys, would appreciate some help with this. I'm travelling to Minneapolis from Johannesburg, South Africa for the Prince celebration in April (I'm calling it 'the last purple pilgrimage') and need to book some accommodation. Any Minneapolis locals or past purple pilgrims that can reccommend some decent but affordable accommodation? Thanking u in advance.

I stayed at the Hampton inn downtown, which is within walking distance of First Ave (I think it's N. 8th street). Nice hotel. I rented a car to go to Paisley Park, which was easy enough. Still deciding if I'll go in April.

There are too many to list. All depends on your budget and what you are all planning to do while you are here. If you plan to stay in chanhassan tho you best make those arrangements soon as there are only 2 or maybe 3 hotels there. They will surely be fully booked that week. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

We stayed in Bloomington. At the Best Western right across the street from Mall of America! It was amazing. I definitely would stay there again if we go. Good prices, free (warm) breakfast, free wi-fi, super nice people working there, nice italian restaurant inside the hotel, and our room was great! They have a shuttle to mall of america, and the drive is about 30-40 min. is all to Paisley Park.
