Ana Moura will perform at the Official Prince Tribute

Ana Moura from Portugal has announced that she will be joining the line up of performers at the Official Prince Tribute concert.

She is awesome and Prince loved her.

It's true.

Unfortunately, there are MANY countries such as Portugal where MANY people are not familiar with our beloved Prince.

I'm Portuguese and Prince has always been widely known over here. Always. He's played concerts, came to see others in concert, wrote a song about Portugal, etc. He played a secret concert that sold out within minutes of it being announced, and this was just a few years ago (2010). Throughout the 80s and 90s he featured heavily on television, with even the Lovesexy tour being showed on tv in the afternoon, more than once. His videos were shown non stop on tv. There were music impersonation tv shows that did impersonations of him.
His death was widely announced in the media, both newspapers and television. Music magazines ran exclusive editions. So you are wrong.
I'm not arguing with you, my dear, merely correcting you. People in Portugal knew who Prince was WELL BEFORE Ana Moura came on the scene.

Yes he did. He is widely known here.

Right after his death The Very Best of Prince and Ultimate were the two top albums sold, with Purple Rain and Parade in fourth and fifth places.

When Nothing Compares to U came out it was widely known here that Prince was the author and people used to refer to it as the song Prince wrote for Sinead, whereas i know in some places people did not even know it was his.

Here you can see him on stage with Ana Moura. She's a well known and loved Fado singer and him playing Fado in the guitar is one increadible moving experience.

And here's a song he wrote about Portugal:

At a show here she sang Purple Rain as a tribute. She was also wearing a wrist band Prince gave her.

Wasn't she the one people thought was in the photo of Prince in the record store pretending to act like he didn't know his picture was being taken, but it turned out not to be her but his assistant or something like that?

Well I recognized the name even though I'm not familiar with her work, there's that.

It's still not being televised so I don't even know why I'm paying this any attention.

-- They can record it and sell it later or have it streamed on Tidal.

Thanks for setting everyone straight. I'm new to the org and am surprised at all the negativity.

I would say it is Anna Moura.
