$250 to meet and greet someone who happened to be related to Prince. If this isn't using his passing for blatant fan exploitation I don't know what is.

If they are delusional enough now to act like royalty, then heaven help us when they inherit the estate.

If it were a meet and greet with his musical family, then I guess that would sit OK with me. I personally have zero interest in meeting Tyka or any of the other half brothers and sisters, plus whoever else considers themselves family. I think they are running the risk of getting a crowd of people who are going to be trying to educate them in the way they believe the estate should be managed. It sounds ill-judged to me, but good luck them.

If it was a meet and greet with some of the musicians he worked with then maybe but will that many people spend $250 to meet Tyka and Omar? Hopefully whoever does is respectful and isn't pestering them with questions about the investigation or estate.

$250 for meet and greet with family. eek Have any of the family members said if they're going to be at Xcel? I hope this event is a compliment to that and not seem as a competing event. It's nice to have something for people who couldn't get tickets to Xcel show or might be in town doing a PP tour.

Given that the doors open at 8 the night of the concert, I'm thinking it is a competing event and the family will not be at the concert. Or at least not for long.

I hope that's not the case. Both Judith Hill and Liv Warfield are scheduled to perform at Xcel and apparently are special guests at the dance parties. It is telling though that PRNFamily hasn't said anything about the Xcel show and Londell McMillan hasn't commented on these dance parties.

Apart from u instead of you, there were no spelling errors, so I'm not sure that spell check would have helped. lol

yes there were spelling errors lol Astasheiks corrected it after TrivialPursuit pointed it out

There was an incorrect word but no spelling errors, they used want instead of won't. The point being that a spell checker would not have found a spelling mistake. wink

But as for the topic of the thread, this holds no interest for me. Put some new music out or some concert recordings for sale and I'll be super excited and celebrate that.

RIP sad

FYI.

According to the name of these three special events, the dance parties are going to last "until dawn". This means that, if they wish, those attending the tribute concert at Xcel can also attend the dance party afterwards.

Let's please try to keep this positive.

Prince's family have stated their support for the Xcell official tribute on Twitter:

"The Twin Cities will be IT this October" and they say that it's because of the following:

-#PRNFamily Dance Parties

-Official Prince Tribute

-Paisley Park Tours

-Our Beautiful State

I would like to go on the 14th but i feel conflicted...i like the dance party atmosphere while at the same time feel weird about it. I don't know what to think of meet & greet option, it could be under good intentions but what can you say to them that's already been said and already know what you can not say.

It would of been nicer if they did this at Paisley Park instead, after the evening tours and would be much more convienent (well for my situation)

That's my impression as well, definitely seems competing - especially since those previous tweets about the Xcel one, like 'this is not the official family event, stay tuned'. They could have made it Wed, Friday Saturday...

The Dance Party goes until 4am on Thursday vs 2am Wed and fri nights. So Yeah I think they might be at the concert of a bit. Doors don't open until 9. Well 9 for people like me who will not be spending $250 on his family that he didn't seem all that close to. Also special gift would be nice if we knew what it was before shelling out an extra $50 at it being a t-shirt

I don't see anything wrong with the dance parties...except for the tasteless VIP category and pricetag.

Me neither. I also don't see any problem with the family letting people know that they aren't necessarily in agreement with everything going down irt estate stuff, events, etc... It's great that these parties are going on so late so that people can do the tribute and parties if they want to.

Someone messed up with the GA cost, both GA and VIP are listed at $250

i was surprised to see $250 for general admission while the other option is $77.77. That has to be a error or else there will be no $31.21 option confused

What a lame way to get people to sell out early admission! Hope this wasn't intentional.

Yes got 2 for Friday. $39 vs $89 I just couldn't bring myself personaly to spend that much extra for 2 tickets to get in 2 hours early. That's just me though. I'll be upset though if the free gift is something really nice.

I get the feeling Bremer, Londell, Graceland etc. are just the scapegoats. It's easy to go after lawyers and banks assuming all they care about is money and don't have Prince's best interests in mind. But selling VIP tickets for $250 to meet his siblings....seriously? And people think a $12 tasting menu of his favorite foods is tacky...
