At one point Apollonia threw a bunch of stuff out into the crowd. People on the Periscope stream were saying they were hoop earrings.

Omar Nelson was the guy in the white hat who was up there for a bit at the microphone...I couldn't understand what he was saying though, sound was too muddled.

-

Overall, from what I could tell just watching the show over a stream, it looked and sounded to be a pretty great, and quite emotional, show. Well done.

PS. Performing Sometimes It Snows In April was clearly rough on Wendy. sad It was rough on ME here at home just listening to that song.... bheart

He was calling Alfred & Sharon 2 come 2 the stage, he said "my sister" too, not sure if he meant Tyka, it was very muffled.

Sorry mods if this isn't allowed, but I had to try.

I am allowing it, unless we get word otherwise. I don't think they will mind.

Thank you, TrivialPursuit, luv4u, good ole ex-orger Ernest, and Chekesha for letting us join in on The Revolution tribute. It was special. touched

Yeah it was exhausting. I lasted on Guiness into the after party and had to go home. I was spent. They killed it. Brown Mark was murdering that bass. Just filthy. Trying to remember the songs they did. Opened just the Revolution and they had a guy on back up guitar and vocals.

They opened with Lets go crazy and the rest is a blur. But I know they did America, Mountains, Computer Blue,Raspberry Beret,Kiss. I know when Andre and Dez joined them they went into Do it all night which was incredible. They also did Uptown,Party Up, Controversy, Let's Work, little red corvette, Controversy, 1999. Bilal did The Beautiful Ones. An awesome version of When Doves Cry. And Private Joy. Just Wendy and Lisa did Sometimes it snows in April. The band did Purple Rain. At some point Apollonia came out and threw hoop earrings aka Purple Rain into the crowd. And at some point they had Apples, Susannah, Mayte and Manuela on stage with everybody else and I think they did Baby I'm a star. Then I think maybe 2 of Prince's brothers Omarr and Alfred came on stage too. Sorry I'm all over the place. Hopefully someone with a better memory will give you an in order account. But it was amazing. Worth the trip.

They had video cameras everywhere. They filmed it. We'll see if they actually use it or if they'll put that in the vault too. 😏

Help please - am I hearing that right? Is there a ghost track of prince's vocals underneath the live vocals being sung?

The sound is set in time...Lisa's playing makes every memory I ever have about Prince and his music flood through me in a mere moment.

Sometimes It Snows in April... too much.

So I am sitting at my office desk, 6:15 a.m., crying after watching "Sometimes It Snows In April." So beautiful.

Bilal is the best one for this song, LOL! I mean, he killed it on the BET Awards and he did great here too.

Bilal is probably one of the most underrated R&B/Neo Soul singers ever.

Highlights: Andre Cymone was great and looked great. Ditto for BrownMark. Mayte was there and was fine. Ditto for Manuela. I mean really fine for both of them. It was nice seeing some of Prince's family there and also Appolonia.

Lowlights: The Revolution meant well. God bless them. It is not fair to critique Prince's band from the 80's who are all at or near 60. It was great to see them. It helped me realize that with, perhaps the exception of Sheila E. and maybe 3rdEyeGirl, no one can remotely approach the magic that Prince gave us in a live performance and even though we all know that to be the case we are all hoping that we can relive that magic. That magic left us last April. I have to accept that. It also helped me realize that live performances may not be the best way to do a tribute to Prince. He left us with nearly 40 years of releases, a vault full of unreleased music and videos of his performances. If they do the museum right and handle the vault right, that will be the proper tribute. I will attend the tribute on October 13, but I am most excited about going back to Paisley.

i agree..Prince is the Lebron ansd MJ of music..he just takes them much higher through his arrangements, guitar work, vocals, rehearsals etc...

From what I saw online, the band and the music sounded like the Revolution of old which was just cool .

So good that you sometimes wished Wendy would let the crowd sing instead of herself. And I dont mean that in a bad way.

Prince SHOULD'VE done this show. It pisses me off that he oposed the idea. mad neutral

One complain I always had with P's shows in the past 10 years, is that there were too many medleys and too much razzmatazz.
These Revolution shows are traight up raw, songs from start to finish, and just like they were back in the days.
Thats what makes them so exciting.

Im so angry that P never played one more time with them.

sad
