Prince concerts were just like Santa coming to town when we were kids

I realized, I got the same feeling of excitement when I was a kid when "Santa" was coming to town as I did when a Prince concert was coming to town (or when I was going out of town to see him.) I think there was that same feeling of excitement, anticipation and knowing that I was going to get a great gift, his presence and his music. That is one reason it was such a blow when he died, when I was a kid, Santa never died, I just realized after a few years who the real Santa was. I do think those same feelings of adrenalin and anticipation existed when looking forward to a Prince concert. Prince was my musical Santa, just bringing his wonderful gifts to us.

P was better than Santa - the gift/music kept on giving, & Santa wasn't sexy razz

I hear you, it was my event to look forward to every year or two. I'll miss that immensely, & that's what chokes me up - knowing I'll never witness him bringing it again. There's nothing like live music, & my fave will never wash over me live again. It guts me...
