I also had tickets for the cancelled Blenheim Palace 1991 (England) and Croke Park 2008 (Ireland) gigs.

The best show out of all of them..the Eatons Hill Hotel Aftershow...2.5 hours long, finished at 4:50 am. Shelby said they'd play till the Sun came up if people put their mobiles away...so the mobiles went in pockets and the Sun was peeping over the horizon as I got in my car to go home.

I lost count when I hit 20 and I hit that by 1990

I wrote this piece shortly after his death, recalling my favorite moment from each of the shows I saw from 1997-2014. Eleven shows total, all in and around LA.

I only got to see him once, but it remains my favorite show ever. I was there for the October 24th show at Paisley Park back in 2009.

7 times. Had a strange experience trying to go to a after party in San Francisco. Could not get into the after party. Standing outside with others in line trying to get someone to sell me a ticket. Saw a giant tour bus circle the building. Finally gave up. By myself, walked back to my car. A few blocks away was the tour bus. It was on a quiet street. I walked up to the tour bus. Just me. Stood there. Should I knock? Is Prince in there? I finally walked away. Was he in there? Did I miss a opportunity of a lifetime? We wil never know!

Maybe 10? Not including birthday concerts and private "After-after" parties. Makes me sad for the younger generations that will never witness him play live. His passing signifies an end to a certain standard of excellence that was once the standard of live performances.

So true. One of the last great live entertainers.

Me too. Being his age we grew up with him. I live in the san Francisco Bay Area. I remember he did a show in 1981 at a club on Broadway called The Stone. The Stone is long gone but I remember people talking about that show for years.

I also remember coming to work after weekends and people saying they had Prince sightings because he would make trips here to see Sheila.

You would not have to worry about big crowds. Prince concerts were family. It was different from any other concerts I have ever attended. We would have taken care of you because you were a soldier in the purple army.
