Prince & Detroit ?

Really random questions stemmed from an observation from someone who seemingly doesn't know otherwise razz

Is it me, or are the concerts - even back in those early 80 days - seem extra hyped in Detroit. Is there a Prince connection there...? Is it coincidental? Just curious - those shows all seem to ROCK IT OUT! ---> Detroit Prince fans know how to Party in Purple Style smile

Dance where y'are, just groove y'all.

Detroit was special for Prince and Detroit LOVES Prince. I was going to say Detroit loved... heck what was I thinking - like the rest of the universe we all LOVE Prince. I'm sure a big factor in the mutual love affair between Prince and Detroit was the Electrifying Mojo. A very popular disc jockey who is credited for introducing Prince to the Detroit (and Windsor, Ontario Canada 😀) area.

That's interesting I didn't know about that DJ but major props to him for spreading the Purple vibe!!

I know what U mean about using present tense / past tense. I still refer to Prince completely in present tense. He IS still with us after all heart

Atmosphere is definitely one - very easy to pick that up on the concerts, such a great audience vibe! Totally forgot about Motor City/Motown Music connection - of course!
