Night 3: Dance Party - 23 January http://blog.thecurrent.or...r-tonight/
$25 cover, doors at 9.
Seems pretty last minute but those who traveled to town should be happy to get their money's worth for three nights at the park. Post what you know!

There's no doubt in my mind that i would head out there if in the area. the more active and fun the crowd, the more of a chance Prince hops on stage for awhile. Dont be surprised to see gear set up.......... Back in the day "dance parties" were never just "dance parties". |

Feed said "The broadcast has ended." and then went blank. Still that way. |

I'm still "viewing" it, but the screen is blank. That number was up over 700 when the feed ended. |

Prince did some DJ'ing tonight. It was really embarrassing. The majority of the crowd just stood there and stared at him the whole time. Nothing new was played. [Edited 1/24/16 2:31am] TRUE BLUE |

Somebody played some synthlines over some loops, and Prince was back to barking at people in his best Larry Cramps immitation . I was like 'Larry effin Grah- ' then I saw it was Prince, err " ".. because Prince hasn't been seen in decades. It wasn't creepy at all that Prince has his own cross hanging up on the wall, to represent his err, suffering at the hands of Pontias WB, his career died to wash away the sins of... who are we kidding? The career died for no good reason whatsoever . At one point somebody asked when Prince was going to release the outtakes and they sent Kirk out with a mophandle.. One person's embarassing is another person's entertainment. |

Of course we are all entitled to our own opinion. I'll just say that I enjoyed the night. Sure, would have been better if the band jumped on stage...but what he did was fun too. Was good to see Hannah and Josh stroll through...and Shelby as well. |

Just to be clear, I don't mean that Prince's DJ'ing was embarrassing, the people standing around and staring was. TRUE BLUE |

I've never understood that aspect of going to Paisley Park - how so many people just run to whatever stage is set up, park it, and stare at it all night, regardless of what's going on. I'd much rather dance, socialize and move around a bit.
I didn't go Saturday, but it sounds like it was a fun night. |

Some of the folks may have not been that close to him b4...I noticed the same.
It was fun being in the back and dancing like who cares, like just being at home having fun with the music and then remembering and seeing that Prince was leading the DJ-ing. ~honey is b-ing 1 with the 1~ |

Even after Prince was done--then a bunch of people were all glued in front of the main stage where the house DJ was--I was like why are they all huddled around---what is there to see? It was bizarre. Prince had just finished so if they thought he was gonna break out a guitar and get on stage that wasn't happenin...They shoulda just danced! |

It is bizarre and it has been that way since the 90's parties. I think Prince was thinking about coming back out to DJ again, because they brought the laptop back out and set it up where he had been earlier. Everyone ran over there and stood there and stared at it for a good 20 minutes, before they realized he wasn't. People will stand in front of the stage the entire night waiting for something to happen. Sometimes they are in luck, sometimes not. I still had a blast Saturday night. TRUE BLUE |
