Prince at Paisley (Nov. 6)

Just got back from watching Prince at Paisley Park. He and the band kicked ass for an hour and then took everyone to the movies to see Spectre. No joke. We opted to go home instead as the wife isn't a fan of Bond.

Kirk Johnson announced that Prince is for sure playing tomorrow night. There were not a lot of people in attendance. The parking lot wasn't even full.

But it was another incredible show.

Set list: Let's Go Crazy, The Ballad of Dorothy Parker, Four, Xpectation, Use Me, In Time, You Can Make It If You Try, You're the One for Me, Days of Wild

I find it incredible that not a lot of people were there. A superstar of his magnitude invites people over to his studio complex to see him play live and see a blockbuster movie with him and hardly anyone shows up???

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

When I saw 007 at the end of ...007 , I had a sneakin' suspicion that the new James Bond movie would somehow be in the mix. cool

Apparently they're paying for everyone to see the new James Bond movie after tomorrow's set.... But it was incredible I'm still in shock. Very intimate. Band was great! They didn't go back on apparently someone stole a set of guitar picks and they refused to go back on. But they were out mingling, Prince riding his bike throughout the place. I can die a happy person now.

People have turned up so many times and Prince dont play, so no surprise there were not many there.

This right here. I didn't bother last night. Unless it is made clear he is playing (which does happen occasionally) I go maybe a third of the time something is announced. And sometimes it's great and sometimes it's not.

Will probably head out there tonight though. Hoping for a good show.

It's because he has charged $40 many times and not played so many people feel burned. There were big crowds when he did the 3 day party and most everyone left disappointed that he didn't play. Prince is loved but he isn't fully trusted.

Hmmmm ... This is disappointing. The movie thing was cute/funny once or twice, but I'm not about paying $40 to go to a movie at 1am in the farflung suburbs.

Now reconsidering my attendance tonight...

Seriously? How do you complain about this possibility & you live there. It's not like you have to get on an airplane & take the chance he plays. Enjoy the possibilities or get off the boat.

Keep the No-Doz handy,

If he pulls a repeat and plays less than an hour before taking everyone to "007" again, it's a 2 1/2 hr movie that might have some people snoring in the theater at 2:30, 3 in the morning.

Would like to go, but can't justify the mystery agenda for $40.
Maybe if more people stay away (sounds like only the hardcore and a few newbie curious were there last night), they'll get the message that people don't really want to come out, without a more definite idea of what's going on.

I miss the free or $7 nights as well...

They didn't end up taking everyone to the movie last night. They DJ in the soundstage announced that they were, but then Kirk announced that they weren't. The live set was awesome. There were some people in pajamas. I think it was about 11:30 or 12:00 when they came on. They played for about an hour. Prince was tearing up on guitar. Later after the set, he was riding his bicycle through Paisley Park lobby and soundstage. Quite amusing.

Not sure if it means they wont let you in? But it does say limited seats $0 come early. This photo was just tweeted:

So I bet if you are lucky you can sit at a table or on the pillows in front. Wonder what other folks do? Crowd in between or cant see it? Does this mean it might be acoustic? Or Andy Allo performance. WHo knows?

What artist opens his sprawling Home/studio estate up to his fans, plays 4 them, then treats them all to a movie? NONE! prince cares so much 4 his fans. Yet is NEVER appreciated or acknowledged 4 it.
eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince
