What do you mean? There are no tickets for sale right now at all. And for my venue tickets would have been on sale today directly at the venue. It was made clear a few days ago that there would be no tickets on sale directly for the venues here in the UK. Perhaps that wasn't communicated on the continent. |

Yeah, I went to the box office at Smyphony Hall on Wednesday evening and was told Prince ticket sales were online or phone only. I subsequenty learnt that they would only have approx 400 to sell as the rest would go to Ticketmaster and Seetickets.
Just spoken to the Box Office again - they have no update - date of show still held at present. [Edited 11/13/15 5:28am] |

Totally different situation here and totally different to what you assume. There was ticket sale here schedulled directly at the venue and it was reported in all the media as big news and that same information was given online and on the phone as well by both the venue and by the promoter of the concert here. And still this morning when we were standing the people from the venue told us that the phone ordering was not happening anymore as it had been planned, but tickets will be available here by nine for sure. The ticket sale was announced for directly at the venue and through one ticket sale company online. Both of them had their seperate contingents of tickets to sale. We spoke to the people working for the venue during the hours of waiting about all that. Then 10 minutes before it should have finally started with about 100 people in line some of them waiting since 4am one person from the venue came out telling us they were informed just now that the artist personally changed his mind and wants everything to be stopped right now and they are so sorry for us. With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A.... |

Blame Prince's hit and run CONcept. If the promoters had more time it all could be well organized. But chaos and disorder rules prince's world. |

For goodness sake! How have any of us been harmed?! We're having to wait for a new release date - so what? Harmed would be us having to pay extortionate prices from touts, not waiting a day or two longer to make a legitimate purchase. Jeez! [Edited 11/13/15 4:36am]
I was the 9th in line for the Vienna concert queueing for tickets since 6am in the cold and was told 10 minutes before the sale was supposed to start that Prince stopped it. And I might not get a ticket at all when the sale starts again. You obviously have no clue what you are talking about . Whilst I have some sympathy to your plight, I feel you are inflating the seriousness, Serious! Talk about first - world problems! And if you think I've never queued for tickets before, or faced the challenges of 5 days at a completely flooded Glastonbury festival, for example, you are sorely mistaken! You queued for a while in weather you ought to be used to. Disappointing? Certainly. Being "harmed"?! Get a fucking grip! |

So did you ever queue for a show for hours and then 10 minutes before you would hold your ticket for one of the first 2 rows in hand you were suddenly send home being told by the people of the venue that the artist just told them to stop? I never ever heard about anything like that at all before. And for your informaton: I personally lived in a 3rd world country in a little hut for about a year and know first hand about serious problems in the world. And we are facing the refugee situation here in my country right now and I went to visit one of the refuge camps here a few weeks ago organising things for the refugees and talking to them about their stories. I am well aware there are much bigger problems than a ticket for a Prince show . Maybe "harm" is not the best word - I am tired (I didn't get more than 2 hours sleep tonight and not more than 3 hours the night before) and English isn't my first language - but for sure what happened is unfair and frustrating With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! Question for those in the know: Is there any indication that the shows themselves are cancelled od postponed - or is it just the ticket sale? |

Maybe "harm" is not the best word - I am tired (I didn't get more than 2 hours sleep tonight and not more than 3 hours the night before) and English isn't my first language - but for sure what happened is unfair and frustrating Yes - I queued for 5 hours on Holloway Road, London in cold combined with pissing - down rain for a gig, only to get about 10 people from the front and get turned away because the venue was full. To add to it, by that time the gig had started and we could here it from outside (though not well enough to hang around any longer!). Frustrating, yes, but we then just went to a pub and made the best of the night! Listen, I said I have some sympathy and of course you are gutted and I feel for you. But it's kinda symptomatic of this thread, the way people are hugely over - reacting to what is simply a delay in proceedings. Some are accusing Prince of pulling out (!!) and others are acting like the world has stopped. It's a gig - a special gig, sure, but it's just a gig. People's sense of entitlement these days is truly shocking and utterly selfish (though, I'm not accusing you of that - you don't fit in that category). And, by the way, your English appears to be excellent, especially for a second language. I truly hope you secure the tickets you are after and enjoy the show |

There is a huge difference though if the venue is full and you don't manage to get a ticket or if everybody is just send home 10 minutes before the sale starts (and for a reason that had to be foreseen and so all that could have easily be avoided) and you were looking forward to getting your excellent ticket.
And thanks for the second part of your answer. With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A.... |

Dont pay that person attention, you have the right to feel the way you do regardless if someone else feels it is NOT a big thing in the grand scale of things around the globe. Your frustration is a valid feeling! Anyways, this tour seems to be all over the place right now... A shame... Whatever the reasons for this, its gonna come back as bad publicity for him - he may 'never get bad reviews' for his stage shows, but the constant c*ck handed mood changes/alterations/removing schedules/albums etc are doing him no favours. I'm mindful he's not 100% to blame, but I don't see many other artists of his stature changing plans so late, so frequently. The tickets may go on sale today, but how many of us took time out of our non rock star lifestyles to try their best to pay a lot of money to see an artist we love perform, at extremley short notice? The guerilla gigs were a novel idea, but ffs - its November/December, in the UK and I just can't keep putting my life on hold for Prince. Good luck to those who want to que on the day, if this is the way its going to go - I won't be one of them.
So if it turns out he delayed the sale to prevent malpractice by ticket agencies, this will reflect badly on him?! Do you read the Daily Mail or something? [Edited 11/13/15 4:35am]

Yes, how could Prince have predicted this turn of events? It's not like this has happened before.

Surely he won't go back to using Ticketmaster if they indeed own one of the scalper sites!
Btw, if that's true I don't get it if the media doesn't pick up on it. One of the world's biggest ticket outlets (if not the biggest?) being in the scalper business is a bloody good story! |
