It happened, but was "just" a dance party. I got there about 9:30. The DJ was set-up front and center on the stage in the L4OA room. Did a nice job with the music selection! After a while a few buses pulled up - turns out there was a YMCA leadership convention/meeting in town and this is probably why there was a party. At one point, at the DJ's suggestion, a Soul Train line broke out.
There were the typical t-shrits and CDs and books and stuff for sale, along with mac and cheese and chips and lite food for sale, etc.
The last bus left the Park about 12:30, which was the same time I left. I had the feeling it wasn't going to go on much longer. No sight of Prince or the band, aside from Kirk.
People seemed to have a good time - sure, we would have loved Prince to perform, but I think people still had fun! | |
