I heard that people have travelled quite far for a show this weekend, so for their sake, I sure hope it happens.

I was downtown yesterday in my P shirt and a guy commented on it saying he had flyers in his car for tonight and that doors were at 11 which I remembered because it's slightly later than the usual 9. I asked if it was one of the $30 things and he said yeah. No official tweet means it's either not happening or is going to be SUPER small if it is actually happening. |

I didn't know they still made actual flyers for these, the only one I remeber was from last summer's King concert at pp.. |

So #purplearmy, we made the drive tonight. Upon arriving, had some great conversations with some fellow fans (Erica and Shawna!). And after a while, a member of his staff came over to let us know there was no show tonight.
And then he smiled and said: "But the weekend isn't over!"

So fans have to search for a sax player's tweets to try and determine if a show is happening now?
Prince and his crew don't tweet anything confirming or denying something happening at Paisley this weekend. |

First of all, you listen. Why are you defensive? No one attacked you. Not every fan is on twitter or follows this sax player. Glad you're on your way to MPLS. Hope a show happens...
.
Prince will keep on playing such games as long as fans keep jumping through hoops.
If fans were to boycott and no one showed up one night, you think Prince might start announcing events and communicating more clearly? |

Every time there has been something going on at Paisley Park, the tweet has come from the @Prince3EG account and has been very specific on when and how much. It has always been announced when there is an event open to the public. They have NEVER tweeted out that something isn't going on. All they tweeted this week was "Don't miss another hot summer weekend of Funknroll at Paisley Park." Where do you get that it was this weekend? If you or anyone chose to travel here thinking there would be something going on, without official confirmation, then that's on you or them and not Prince. TRUE BLUE |

It's funny how you're attacking me. I'm not in mpls... couldn't be bothered to go (without a confirmed show). It's interesting the levels people tend to go to defending Prince. Hello? between Prince's tweet this week and Dr. Funkenberry's tweet: "something is happening this weekend" - can you understand how some fans were lead to believe something would be happening at Paisley? Why can't Prince's people say, hey everyone - nothing is happening this weekend?? Isn't that called consideration?

You're taking what I'm saying the wrong way. I am not attacking you. I can understand how some fans took what Funkenberry said as confirmation that something was going on this weekend. He did delete the tweet earlier this week, though. Like I was saying, if there is something going on @Prince3EG will tweet about the details. No tweet=Nothing going on. As far as Prince knowing people were flying/driving long distance, how would he know that? I'm pretty sure he doesn't bother himself with those matters. We all know how Prince is. TRUE BLUE |

I know that Prince is certainly aware that some fans may/will travel to see him perform.
Also, one of his people could have responded to info here or on twitter that people were traveling to Paisley this weekend.

Anybody who flies all the way from the UK without a confirmed concert (and a ticket in hand) has no cause for complaint, knowing Prince as we all surely do by now.
Common sense is your friend.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

Why the hell would anyone do this? Fly thousands of miles hoping someone who has not announced a show will somehow decide to play one .....and only in the particular city they want him to play in at the time. Crazy ....What other artist has this kind of ridiculous expectation placed upon them? NONE |

What's so difficult to comprehend? The tweets lead some fans to think something was going down.
.
Prince's tweet basically said get ready for "another weekend" at Paisley. Knowing that a show had just ocurred on Monday, it's understandable that some people perceived that as a reference to the coming weekend.
.
"Only in the particular city they want him to play in"? Uh, Prince's message referred specifically to Paisley Park, which evidently is still located in Chanhassen.

I agree. Whoever is responsible for tweeting that message should have communicated further to say that no party at Paisley would occur. |
