I got the two 22 tickets =76 total not sure if there are still any left but I was at my computer literally at 5 sharp lol and the loading request did take some time as another poster mentioned. Also, the tickets have a delivery delay so if you got them online or any other way you won't be able to print them until 5/9 which I think is hella stupid. The tickets are really expensive but I got the cheap ones this is my only shot in seeing Prince once in my life! lol

[Edited 5/6/15 14:24pm]

I think perhaps the delivery delay is to try to prevent scalpers?

no i didnt,

just playing around with the fact that there were very little low level ticket prices in the sytem , avarage price was around 200$ plus fees .

plus rember prince gets a cut of the service charge 13-30$ per ticket$ on top of the ticket price

Its not that simple for events. You'd have to subtract fair market value of the event attended.

Change it one more time..

not true as i go charity events all the time

its real simple and it works like this what ever percentage of the actualy ticket is going to charity that part is tax deductible as long as its a real charity and has federal tax exempt status.

to make it easier.

if the 500$ ticket hes donationg 100$ per tiket then u can deduct 100$ from your taxes

if a 22$ ticket he donates 10$ you can deduct 10 dollars.

it must all be transparent if you are doing a charity event.its law 1 0 1.

in fact im pretty sure anyone can suppena the books to make sure it was all done correctly .

now , if all he does is make a donation privatly after the fact from getting paid for playing the show wich my guess is what hes doing then to bad so sad, well never now how much or to who it went unless he makes it public

He can still do pay per view like they did for the Katrina concert at Msg. I paid for that and got to watch it live. People can watch with their mothers and family for Mother's Day. Seeing how it was short notice and many already had plans for Mother's Day, even though the concert is for Baltimore.

Prince could get paid upfront and a percentage to charity.

I'm not sure where you get that info from but this is my legal niche, I know what the parameters are.

.

The donations are not going to an NGO as the direct recipient, which would be the only way you could demand a tax receipt for your purchace. A donation will be made on behalf of the concert goers for the revenue raised. To do it the way you're suggesting, the event would have been arranged with an NGO as the sponsor; 2) the IRS considers any benefit recieved from a donation to be quid pro quo vis a vis what's provided by the charity. You are only able to consider for deduction the donation amount minus the fair market value of the benefit received.

that is what i said in part two , if he makes a donation in total and doesnt seperate he can do what he wants and we cant deduct it .

most charities do it the other way , its a base price for the ticket and the diffrence is tax deductable and usualy the base price covers expenses.

A portion of the profits? It should be 100 percent. I know how the portion game works. Is Prince trying to profiteer off of this? He should play a free concert in a park somewhere being as most of the people effected will not be able afford to attend.

1) Prince doesn't need the money.

You're sure about that, are you?

If he needed the money he would do a big 90 city tour like in 2004. Are you aware he made 80 million on that and has done the o2 thing and other tours since then. I am sure with investments and royalties he is good.

Prince is getting a lot of negativity nationwide for this concert. He is being called out as being opportunistic. Also, for supporting a career criminal. Yes, a separate issue than the manner in which he died.

Do you have a source of this alleged negativity to post? We can't be expected to take your word for it. I haven't read anything negative from legitimate sources.

A pay per view would be great. My kids could get it for me... biggrin

According to this article Prince said he would speak to Jayz about streaming it on Tidal. I don't know if it was posted before.

Oh I thought it was just the song. So that means one had to subscribe to Tidal? That means you'd have to watch it on a computer and deal with occasional screen freezing, compared to it being on a cable network on tv with less chance of screen freezing. Hmmm..ok.

Some of these posts are disgusting- questioning Prince's integrity and motives. He has a history of donating to a wide range of urban causes.

What have you done about urban violence and poverty?

According to the article he wants to stream the concert. I'm guessing it would be similar to the 3rdeyegirl Yahoo special minus the Lovesex girl, lol

I don't know if you have to subscribe or if you can pay a one time fee just for the show.

Now it is getting interesting. "Portions" of the proceeds will go to charity. So how much of your $500 will go to charity and how much will go to Prince? If I lived in Baltimore, I'd want to know that. Looks like all the rich people will be in front and the poor are left out again. sad

It's too bad really but then again, if the money really does go to a good cause in Baltimore, it will be worth it. Hard to believe it is the same arena he played in 1980 when he opened for Rick James.
