i don't really understand people who take the attitude, 'it works for prince so just be happy with it'. I'm not glad for prince that he can play shows without committing to tour dates. It doesn't thrill me to know that he does what he wants. It's just irritating following a guy who is so frustrating to his hardcore fans.

I'm pretty sure prince does not care about his hardcore fans. He's probably figured that he can make a lot more money by catering to casual fans, so he acts accordingly.

Like, any reasonable fan of any musician would think that this 'tour' is bullshit. But I bet casual fans aren't aware he's on 'tour' until they hear about it on the local news. To them, the experience must be a blast. Suddenly he's in town, he 'plays' all the hits, what a nice treat! To the people who actually follow his shenanigans, it's frustrating. But who cares about them? They're a minority of the ticket-buying population.

He's not making millions. He's just batshit crazy. At many of the 2013 club shows, they were taking $200 tickets and making them $20, and even free. Detroit is a big Prince town, so he got away with it, and made some money. He had not played Lousiville in ages, so he got away with it. He hasn't played Florida or the south in general at all the last 7 years, and only 2 small scale shows since 2004.

If he wasn't batshit crazy, I'd say he hates his fans. He has no earthly idea that real people have jobs with difficult vacation policies where you just can't take time off and leave with a few days notice. If he understood the concept, he'd probably do a normal tour. NOBODY else tours this way. They want their hardcore fans to be able to go. Prince just doesn't understand the concepts involved. He's had nothing but time his entire life...nobody tells him he can't go anywhere, etc..

But since he's Batshit crazy, he just doesn't understand the concept. Remember, he had Tony M in the band. That should be enough to prove he is batshit crazy. I still love him, but it does annoy the

crap out of me, but you can't fix Batshit Crazy!

3 shows in 2 cities in 42 days. What an exhausting tour for Prince! I bet he's ready to retire now. And, I'm not counting his stupid 2 shows in one night as 2 shows. If Both shows total 3.5 hours, maybe, but he's doing the 75 minute I am lazy show...and 15 minutes of that, the band can goof off while he's playing the Karaoke machine. And you'd think that 42 days after this tour had started that there would have been at least 5 cities hit...but it's the Run & Run tour at this point.

Or maybe he could call it the "I'm gonna play Play That Funky Music OVER AND OVER AND OVER tour."

More like Hit It And Quit Tour 2015.

No Tony M

No misuse of a talented singer like Shelby to the point of comedy

No extreme effort to not sell albums

No extreme amount of failed promises

No half baked medley ridden concerts with unfocused songs

No constant changing of band members

No bragging about how much money they have, or bitching about not having enough

But as much as I love U2, they can't compare to Prince....the good with Prince is tons better, and the frustrating part is the bad is so much worse.

It is hard sometimes being a Prince fan. Prince might be Hitting, and he might be Running, but he isn't Touring.

I may complain about Prince as much as anybody on here, but I also love him as much as about anybody on here, so I'll keep waiting on a tour...just like the song I took my screen name from..lol. The Essence Festival show was simply a run of the mill show. Not bad...but I want a real tour!!! So waiting is what I will do.
