Australian tour?

I know prince toured Australia in 2012, but I couldn't go and was heartbroken.

prince tours USA and Europe extensively, but never Australia?

Last time before that was in 1992, so I'm afraid you're going to need a lot of patience...

Your forgetting the 2003 tour also. Great perks via NPGMC too!

I would love for Prince & 3rd eye girl to do a run of shows at the Sydney Opera House! Never say never I guess.

Yes I forgot that. Once every ten years is better than once every twenty years, but I guess it's safe to say Down Under isn't his greatest fan base.

I don't know how much a plane ticket from Minneapolis to Sydney costs, but I'm sure Prince can afford it. Plus band. wink

didn't they have to ship his stage with a boat last time they went there? Or did he not bring his full setup?

i have no idea how hard it is to tour in australia. I'm only going on the following "evidence"

.

- a much smaller band that tours the US and Europe regularly has told me that australia is just hard to get to, and the ratio of the number of dates you can play there versus the cost of getting there isn't good.

- an academic friend from new zealand told me that if you do grad studies in that part of the world, it's hard to get funding to go to any conference because they're all so far away. There aren't many international conferences in australia because they would be inconvenient for almost anyone who would attend.

Yeah, just like Canada it's a big country, but there's not a lot of big cities. So a tour wouldn't last very long anyway. And I really don't see him performing for the kangaroos in the outback. (Would be fun 'though...)
(Sorry 2 SoftSkarlett for ruining your thread...) wink sad

Maybe because a rabid fan pulled his wig the last time he was in Aus.? lol
Or gave him a noogie. I forget?
To add something useful to your thread: Hang in there. He will come around eventually.

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Yeah, I guess my best chance is to travel to USA (where he usually is) and see a concert there. I almost had the chance to see him in Melbourne but I was living in South Australia at the time and moved to Melbourne at the end of 2012. Poor timing, I guess.

No worries touring in Oz, fan base is here, smaller venues and more cities for a hit and run tour would work fine.

Actually, for the last couple of years, you'd be better off moving to the UK. Or if you're coming to the USA, make sure it's the West Coast. Other than these 2 nights in Kentucky, he hasn't played in the midwest (outside of a couple nights in Chicago) in ages. I'm hoping against hope that he comes one state north in the next week or so, but knowing Prince he'll play a couple nights in Topeka instead.

Yeah, I heard he plays regularly on the West Coast, including Las Vegas. He's also been playing a lot in the UK, so there's another option. smile

Move to Oakland or San Francisco. More shows in each individual city since 2005 in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee combined. In fact if you multiply the amount of shows in those states by 10, still less than those two Cali cities. Do the math lol.
