Cool! The anti-Fro orgers should be happy lol . Obviously 3EG isn't going anywhere as many have hoped & suggested. . Glad he's having some fun. Too bad he can't have fun promoting his albums. [Edited 2/14/15 8:20am]

In a world where artists make only a fraction of the money they used to make from recordings, is it really surprising that a guy who can charge a million dollars for a small intimate concert isn't that interested in promoting albums?
Unlike a lot of younger artists who need to continue releasing albums to develop their brand and be able to continue filling arenas and get those advertising deals Prince doesn't do, his brand is fully developed, his legend assured and his fee is a steal considering you get one of the best live acts out there with a songbook to die for.
Prince will continue making albums but as long as the economic incentive keeps shrinking for musicians, he'll probably release them more as promotional and artistic tools for his brand than to make money off them.

I completely agree with you Aerogram. That is one of the point I have tried to make on this site. But I think you put it better in words. So many people here complain and criticize the way he promotes his albums or a lack of his promotion. But your point is valid. He doesn't need to. His brand his well developed. He has a following and a catalogue that most other bands would die for. He plays his concerts on his terms and when he wants and where he wants. I think most places would be happy he just played there! And the music industry has changed. The model of making an album and selling it and trying to make a living off of it is a lot harder these days. Now touring with direct contact with your audience is the way to go. No one has better leverage than Prince nowadays in terms of having things on his terms. Well said Aerogram

I get your point, but it's still frustrating for long time fans who keeping getting hits based shows. I always thought of Prince as an artist's artist. On his earlier tours, he would at least play the new album material with some hits thrown in and maybe even some newer material that hadn't even been released. Now, you can forget that. Shame. People can bash Madonna alll they want, but you can guarantee she will tour with her new album, play the new songs, and charge over $300 a ticket in a large venue and still sell out. I just wish Prince would do the same, well maybe not charge $300. TRUE BLUE
