That set list is definitely delivering the hits, giving them what the crowd wants- makes sense- no "Art Official Cage" to be heard--- But the material is certainly leaning toward "Revolution" songs, eh? Must be on his mind-

Well, except for Funknroll, U Know, The Gold Standard and The Breakdown. So apart from nearly half the album being acknowledged there was nothing from AOA.

He must really like that stupid sampler set crap!! That part just ruins his shows nowadays for me. Its just laziness to me and a way to kill time without doing anything

To be fair, U know and Gold Standard were only 30 second snippets.

What was refreshing was the band playing the last half of Funk n Roll as the remix. It was really cool.

What I was disappointed with is that when he pulled away from the hits, ie What's My Name, Dreamer, Forever in my life, Cool etc, he had the opportunity to replace them with Another Love, Wow, Marz etc, but prefered to stick to the same old numbers.

I really enjoyed the show, I wouldn't say it's one of the best P shows I've seen, and it took them a few songs to really get into the groove..... The second half of the show was, IMO, much better than the first half.

lol To be fair, warning2all was referencing the title track, and not the album, which makes his assessment 100% accurate.

First show since Hop Farm as I missed the Hit 'n' Run last year....what an amazing show. ThirdEyeGirl were the brilliant, and Prince was in a playful mood, cutting some cheeky dance moves and superb solos.

Excellent atmosphere in the crowd despite freezing out backsides off outside. Very efficient getting everyone in, very well organised....and we even had snowfall when we came out afterwards. Just a magic night!! biggrin

Totally agree. Second half of the show was the best, I wish he didnt use the sampler tho. But overall it was a nice concert. The interaction between Prince and the band wasn't there though imo.

I think word got out last Monday and it was just word of mouth amongst fans...friend of mine I met at the 2007 O2 shows tipped me off and I legged it home from work to nab what I think was one of the last ones.

There were a handful of confused fans who turned up last night having made a random donation to Autism Rocks thinking they might get in.

Yeah, emails sent to a few people that passed them on, you had to be quick, as they sold out quick.

I was fortunate to be on the invite list, which gives you the option to buy autism rocks event tickets, but I think most fans got them from a link that was quickly passed around.

Seeing the intended set list, its a shame he didn't stick to it. We would have got:

Wow

Another Love

Marz

Automatic

Both versions of Funk n Roll

Pretzel

Green Garden!?

From what I've read it sounded like a killer show. Glad he's still playing with 3EG.

Is it too soon to start a Brit Awards rumour?

This whole thing is bloody ridiculous. I work with various charities and raising awareness by keeping things secret is just daft.

A friend of mine got a ticket. It wasn't just celebs and it wasn't just for people with deep pockets. It was for people who knew people, simple as that. After all, tickets for Lenny last year were going for pocket change.

The thing about people queuing on the streets is also an excuse imo.

Why not tell the world about it, so that Autism Rocks gets some full on publicity?

It's not that difficult ffs.

to be honest the gig was not for raising awareness of Autism. it was to raise funds for research. i really dont understand why people are so bitter about how a charity wants to handle their affairs. some people need to grow up!! i dont beielve its an issue discussing anything post concert and the moderators probably need to go back to the charity for clairification as its already in the papers. I went to Lenny and i went last night and the celebs where there on VIP packages and talking to other fund raisers last night they said they are impressed how Sanjay Shah and his team have managed to raise so much in the last year. So you didnt get to see Prince - boohoo!! but the charity raised a lot of money and thats what matters! hire a venue, security and pay Prince asome money and then sell tickets!

Link says U KNOW (intro)
THE GOLD STANDARD (sample). Only intro and sample of these songs. neutral sad

yes he can't even be bothered to play the news songs in full, thats how much he loves his project. A live version of The Gold Standard would have been awesome. No need to get the bootleg from this show (if it shows up)

Yeah was alot of people around who were maybe there just because they had money, we had a reserved section infront of where we was and all every single one of them did was get pissed up on their free booze, talk amoung themselves and text people through the whole show, was a little distracting, they just come alive when a song they knew came on.

So really was always going to be a primarily hits show, which is a shame as looking at the origional setlist we could have had some new tracks in there.

I think maybe they had to let some fans in to give it more of an atmosphere.

Darling Nikki (Intro) on the sampler, he almost looked like he was tempted to sing a little but resisted.
