This is so much fun that I'm reminiscing about the old days . . . .

Like the AOL chat where he screwed up and ran away . . . .

The UTCM premiere party where MTV cut away because the sound quality was crap . . . .

C'mon, y'all remember, don't you?

lol c'mon, Prince!! WTF?? what in the motherfucking fuck was that all about?? I'm literally laughing at myself for sitting in the same chair like a fool scince 730pm PST waiting for something that just remotely hinted at a release party for not one, but TWO motherfucking CD's!! And we get one song from one CD, a Sly cover, and "What's My Name"? And to boot, we had to sit throught a teenybopper who didn't even know who the fuck Joni Mitchell was, and proll never heard a note from Lovesexy!!

Am I the only one wondering how this chick who is hosting this gig got this gig in the first place? Maybe she's just nervous but it seems she's clueless about basic Prince facts.....and she had no clue that Jimi Hendrix was on that mural? Oh brother.....

"Prince and the Power Generations"

"Liv Warner"

"Marcus Samuelsson"

I kind of preferred the Prince Yule Log channel thing at the beginning where they just slowly/creepily panned over the instruments, because it kind of went downhill once this woman started talking.

The host was cringe worthy. The 2 unreleased songs were better than the album. The acoustic jam was fire. That short ass love stream. Smh. Starting off on the wrong foot

Yeah I am gonna regret how late I'm gonna have to stay up tonight to get some work finished that I put off so that i can watch this. It wasn't that bad but the waiting part was the worst of it. Why did he only play one song live from the album? From what they played in the studio, it sounded like the tracks were pretty good. Anybody know if any Orgers are there now while the session is going on even though the stream has ended?

I agree the host was awful but I enjoyed hearing some of the unreleased tracks and also the live performance. I always have low expecations (like thinking Prince won't even perform), so I was pleasantly surprised.

But yeah, this really wasn't a promotion for the albums.

Anybody know how the people there got in? One of the fans mentioned getting an e-mail and actually flying in from Chicago? Maybe she was on some old NPGMC e-mail distribution list lol

I'm I the only one who enjoyed this?! I enjoyed the studio segment with the new songs!! Those sound hot. Who knows if we'll ever hear them again? Though short I also enjoyed the Prince/3rd Eye Girl performance. I have a new appreciation for their album now. And also for AOA. It's nice to hear the tracks in Paisley Park. The vibe seems so cool there. I'd love to visit one day. cool

Bits & pieces were enjoyable but it was advertised as a concert. Not 4 songs. 1 album song, 1 old song & 2 covers? CMON.

I enjoyed the studio segment, as far as the tunes played (i think they were as good or better than what I've heard on AOA or Plec), and I found that Josh is actually kind of a cool guy. But goddamn, two cd's, you'd expect this shit to be a serious jam session. It'd be like craving pizza all day, going to your fave joint, and being told all they have left is crust!

I remember when he did this for Emancipation; he actually played. Songs. I don't remember it song for song, but I remember he played songs, and played them well.

She said Love Sex, The Power Generation, only made Purple Rain referneces. I'm ashamed. SHE SUCKS I want to throw tomatoes.

Don't forget that she had no clue Jimi Hendrix was on the mural either.... rolleyes

That is what shocked me...who passes over Jimi Hendrix like that??? Gotta respect the Jimi, man. The nerve..lol.
Plus how could she say that Lovesexy was her time, when it looked like she was just born out the womb yesterday? Lol.

So what did we learn form the Livestream... Hannah and Donna are cool.. Everyone had a story of how Prince thinks he can make a song out of literally ANYTHING, which explans an awful damn lot, imo... Paisley Park is an amazing studio. I really liked the mural that featured Vanity 6 and The Time... Bobby Z takes instructions from Prince with paper and pen biggrin ... Remember that John Bream interview when he drove out to Paisley, and ended up only talking to Prince on the speakerphone? I said then that nikka was upstairs pretending to be too busy for the interview. He just pulled the same stunt on the livestream. "We weren't planning to play tonight, but" Then why was your mike set up on the stage at the beginning of the livestream?...Josh and Prince have a ton of aimless bible based tracks that they are impressed with, but, they don't sound all that promising. Prince probably does need help though if he's seriously going to write music as a way of getting with today's pop chart industry chicks... NPGQ's material was strong and reminicent of SOTT and Madhouse without copying much more than synth patches from that era. Prince is likely too busy to write real songs with them though, right? Ahh he'd fuck that up too more than likely, but maybe the tracks would at least have melody again? IDK
